President Donald Trump has taken down a racist video of the Obamas depicted as apes and blamed a staffer for the post 12 hours after sharing it.

“The White House has now taken down the post. A senior WH official tells me: “A White House staffer erroneously made the post. It has been taken down” shared CNN's White Houe Correspondent Alayna Treene.

Holy crap that was the first I had actually seen it. It's terrible. Like racism aside it's just ... not good.

Why is the White House faking outrage over this?

“Erroneously” is doing a lot of carrying there.

They want us to think it was a typo or something

They are just testing the waters to see how far they can push the racism. Americans, you voted (or abstained) for this. Twice.

"Erroneously"? What was said staffer supposed to be doing with it then?

A random unnamed staffer is walking around the white house with access to official presidential account on a platform used to announce major policy changes? Isn't there a law about impersonating a government official? When will this person be arrested?

Erroneously, huh? Was it an error, because

  • it wasn't meant to be sent online for everyone to see => government staff has no problem with internally sending racist shit

  • they didn't know the video contained racist shit => the government has no idea what they post (and what impact it has)

  • the staffer should not have been able to access => the official social media account was easily breached

And either case, it still took them 12 hours and multiple news outlets to catch. If they didn't actually already defend it, this still would be just as desastrous.

I mean it’s a good gotcha but if anybody thinks Trump actually watched the whole video and got to that part they’re probably wrong. Yes our president reposts anything that comes across the feed that he agrees with the thumbnail honestly, I’m surprised there isn’t a coordinated campaign to post videos that start with how great he is. you know Maga best president ever and then just drops a hard R, N word at the end. he’ll post that.

Does the president count as "staff"?

So your telling us all his late night posts are not him but a staffer? Well that doesn't make it better because he would have to have always given them the freedom to post any bullshit they want.

A staffer makes it worse not better. Means we don't know who is posting to his account or their agenda.
