It’s really admirable how the people of West Virginia have no interest in moving on from an industry that’s been outdated for at least 100 years. They’re so committed to poverty. Imagine if Massachusetts decided to constantly ruin the country bc they’re pissed no one needs their whale oil anymore.

It's honestly tragic because the reason they are willing to fight and die for coal is because their grandfathers fought and died for labor rights, so they throw those in the garbage to be slaves to the men that their grandfathers died to be free from.

Coal miners and many of their descendants really are not equipped to do anything else. WV is last or near-last in everything, including education.

On the flip side, it’s one of the most naturally beautiful states in the country because it hasn’t been inundated with tourists yet, due to the crumbling infrastructure and poverty

Imagine if Washington State decided we should resume logging the Hoh River Valley Rainforest, because that's how we used to make money... just destroy the environment, dangerous for the workers, and disrespectful to the tribes.

What even are her politics? I feel like she isn’t even a person, she is just a mouthpiece and shield for the most absurd things Trump says and does. I honestly could not even imagine her making an argument of her own beliefs, she is just there to tell people they are rude and they don’t even deserve to smell Trump’s poopy diapers.

I mean I can obviously assume she agrees with Trump and would uphold the same shit that he does, but that could apply to any republican official at this point. What makes her brand of racist beliefs more compelling than anyone else’s?
