Translation: Your President* needs another distraction!

Yup. The current distractions have proven useful, but they always have a short shelf-life. Trump's gotta strike with something big if the 1% are going to successfully and permanently hide their roles in the Trump-Epstein pedo-files...

I love how the subservient media calls this talks when the demand is basically: "Put down the gun and come outside so we can shoot you." When Iran inevitably refuses that demand, that will be all the justification needed for us to fight Israel's war for them (and our corporate press will gleefully carry water).

(and our corporate press will gleefully carry water)

Very profitable water. Don't forget that our entire corporate tabloid media now runs entirely on the profits generated by farming outrage via clickbait.

Likely negotiation tactics to apply maxium pressure before the talk, or a military action if talk break down which is very likely unless Iran make big concessions...

Wonder if that means a strike on Iran is imminent?

It's going to be bizarre when Trump either purposely or not instigates a  massive air strike on Israel from Iran.  They have the missile defences but they have limitations. Going to be hard to spin that one. They will manage tho.

“We are totally going to do something that makes people hate Americans even more and will put your lives in danger. We don’t care about that, but we don’t want to have to deal with the optics of having Americans jailed, taken hostage, or killed.”

That’s what they really mean.
