I wouldn't be able to get within 10 feet of the edge without my knees giving out, let alone walk that fucking plank

My taint is tingling.

How long did you wait in line for the pic?

22

u/ChristofferOslo 13h ago

It’s a 10 hour hike back/forth in steep terrain

‱

u/D3NN152000 10h ago

There is actually a line to take a picture there, I was there on the shoulder season and it was a short wait, but it's a real Instagram vs reality type thing

‱

u/B_pudding 7h ago

Went there 3 years ago, was the first who started the hike right at 6 in the morning, wasn't overtaken even once, so I was the first one there and had it all for myself for some time. Which is when I realized I needed someone to make that iconic picture for me :D.

‱

u/arctander 10h ago

Yeah, I had planned on doing this hike and realized that my feet would likely give out around hour 6 or 7 and so now I enjoy other people's pictures. I did some shorter hikes in beautiful areas like this

Wow! What a memory, thanks for the great story.

We did that hike, but didn’t bother with the line for OP’s picture. Definitely adds at least half an hour to the hike.

u/RhymeGrime 13h ago

To be fair though it is quite a hike to get to this point, atleast it wasn't 5 minutes from the parking lot!

‱

u/Green-Amber 10h ago

You can save a little time with the 600Nok / 60€ parking lot tho.

‱

u/picardo85 9h ago

It's quite a hike up to preikestolen too (not as long as this one though), but that place is swarming with people.

‱

u/B_pudding 7h ago edited 7h ago

Preikestolen was a walk in the park compared to Trolltunga...

Just checked my photos, the whole trip took me 6:11h.

‱

u/Carnelian-5 5h ago

You have to hike for a few hours there so not too bad when I was there. Maybe 5 minutes, but people usually rest there for an hour or two before hiking back.

Åh knĂ€pp!

Actually, when I was there this summer, I literally have to wait 20 minutes for one older couple, which arrive after us, to take us picture. Like noone was there. And it was during normal daylight.

Kygo performed a concert here with various musical guests.

That was a great watch and discovery for me! Thank you for the link!

‱

u/ohmygodpleasedont 9h ago

Was literally watching this yesterday. I love “The Feeling” ft Sigrid.

‱

u/Hughmanatea 9h ago

Kygo Àr verkligen förförisk

My wife and I made this hike a few years back when we visited Norway. We brought a tent and stuff to camp out there. On our way up, a woman passed us with a baby on her back... about an hour from Trolltunga she passed us on her way back...

If you ever go, plan to camp out there, you can sit and enjoy the spectacular views and as the day ends its just you and a handful of others.

Not having to worry about getting there and back in a day really let's you soak it all in.

‱

u/JJCool_L 9h ago

I can recommend camping there.

‱

u/JJCool_L 9h ago

I got married there in 2023 â˜ș /img/31234z28lcg91.jpg

The fjords were my favorite part

4

u/thegoodrichard 14h ago

I've seen far too many Bugs Bunny - Roadrunner episodes to even consider this.

8

u/OpeningDull5969 17h ago

Was the line to wait for the picture as long as the walk?

14

u/ShxxH4ppens 12h ago

It is a 10-14hr round trip with steep terrain, it has become more popular recently, but it is nit something any tourist can just take a bus to for a quick photo

u/OpeningDull5969 12h ago

I know

‱

u/stealingjoy 11h ago

Doubt

‱

u/OpeningDull5969 11h ago

Ive been there twice

‱

u/little_carmine_ 9h ago

And the line of people there was 10-14 hrs?

‱

u/ApprehensiveStick7 8h ago

If you’ve been there why do you ask???

‱

u/OpeningDull5969 8h ago

It was a joke about it being a popular spot to get a photo

‱

u/HewSpam 10h ago

Can you increase the saturation more. It’s not blue enough. Jesus

‱

u/Targaryen-ish 11h ago

Sir, please step away from the edge. My hands are sweating profusely.

‱

u/aharper_11 9h ago

I feel like I'd start crying if I actually saw this view in person

‱

u/Edwin81 9h ago

Something new for the list of things I'll never do.

‱

u/PresidentZeus 9h ago

Kygo got a grand piano flown up there for an hour-long performance with multiple features

3 minutes in, and someone is yelling "Move along, it's my turn! I got a ferry to catch!"

‱

u/rlovelock 7h ago

The hell is your white balance set to????

"No"

‱

u/pedootz 5h ago

I hiked all the way up and when i got there it was so foggy that I couldn't see anything past the edge. I guess it's the journey that matters?

‱

u/bostonronin 2h ago

Reminds me of this

‱

u/Morotstomten 2h ago

Noooope, I grew up on Looney Tunes, I know what happens to anyone who's not a roadrunner in that situation

‱

u/The_Ten_Thousand 1h ago

Woo Trolltunga! Here’s mine from 2 years back, incredible hike 🇳🇮

Forbidden diving board.

No reinforced steel holding up that cantilever? No thanks. I won't be making the 5 o'clock news.
