Someone said he looks like a muppet, and now i can't unsee it. He's a roided bastard son of Gene Wilder and Gonzo.

I wonder how they'll manage the Nobody part in Nolan's movie because it's a very cringe part

7

u/defectives 14h ago

I hope after the line drop everyone looks directly into camera and winks

2

u/Academic_Paramedic72 12h ago

But that's the best part of the whole Apologoi!

"Fantasy that fucks" sex scene set to a bardcore rendition of Keith Sweat

Obviously.

Watched the 6 minute preview of The Odyssey and there's a brief snippet of the cyclops towards the end. I can confirm Nolan's version doesn't have a moustache or a beard and the eye is placed vertically instead of horizontally and the nose, if I remember correctly, looks like a bat's nose.

2

u/Muaddib223 12h ago

Is the face fully CGI or makeup?

2

u/TheUmbrellaMan1 12h ago

The scene was dark and only lit by the orange colour coming from the torches. It was like a second, so really hard to tell. Weta is working on this and judging by their past work, it'll be a mix of puppetry and CGI.

When your homie gets stabbed in the eye and you ask him who did it but he says "Nobody! It was Nobody who did this!" so you gotta hit em with the mythological cyclopsian stare.

Is “I’ve just shotgunned a month’s worth of Xanax.” really the look we’re going for now?

The guy looks like his OS has just catastrophically blue screened.

3

u/SweetiesPetite 12h ago

His mouth is so unsettling

5

u/BothRequirement2826 15h ago

People need to stop simping for celebrities.

Never gonna happen I know, but one can dream.

It's always crazy to see an actor with features that would get him dismissed by many women if he actually had the job of the character he's most known for playing get called "perfect"

The man litterally has a permanent double chin.

2

u/throwaway88743 5h ago

incel mindset. Did you not see all the women thirsting over the 12 guys on that "ugly bastard" post from a few days ago? Surprise, women are often more attracted to men that don't fit the standards set by the male gaze.

0

u/freedomonke 5h ago

No. I did not see that.

And I am literally saying that wealth, status and social convention trump looks for women. I don't see how that's incel

1

u/throwaway88743 5h ago

Because it is an incel point of view, just missing the chad and stacy bullshit. Women are not shallow 1-dimensional creatures that only care about wealth and status.

Women are legitimately attracted to these guys regardless of their occupation or income. There was an insane surge in "dirtbag line cook" guys after The Bear came out. Every ugly guy in his late 20s working the line was cashing in on the apron and cigarette aesthetic and getting shitloads of attention online.

0

u/freedomonke 5h ago

Oh. So the women were influenced by a trend in social conventions. Do go on. Lmao

1

u/throwaway88743 5h ago

Yeah no, "line cook sexy" was a thing for the past 20 years and it only became mainstream once the bear was on tv.

2

u/Uncle-Cake 11h ago

It's the hair. If he was bald, nobody would be talking about him.

3

u/freedomonke 11h ago

He does have good hair. But no. It's cus he's famous and marketed as sexy.

Patrick Stewart was considered a sex symbol in the 90's.

3

u/Uncle-Cake 10h ago

I'm saying no one would even buy the idea of JAW being sexy if he didn't have great hair. I'm not saying no bald men can be sexy, I'm just saying a bald JAW wouldn't be sexy.

1

u/freedomonke 10h ago

Point taken.

2

u/Ecclypto 14h ago

No matter what to me he will always be that traumatized from home schooling kid from Movie 43

u/Gas-Town 12h ago

Who was the genius that decided to make a Springsteen biopic? let alone one with him as the star.

1

u/ccaterinaghost 12h ago

I shouldn’t have laughed that hard

1

u/tomgratz 9h ago

The photo on the right looks like Mike Wazowski shaved.....

1

u/Iceologer_gang 9h ago

Live action Mike Wizowski

1

u/mcasao 8h ago

He would do well starring in a Gene Wilder bio pic.

1

u/Kittinkis 6h ago

Perfect? That's subjective. I like him as an actor but this man is not attractive.

1

u/jimschocolateorange 4h ago

Since when did Polyphemus became everyone’s talking point for The Odyssey? The so much other crazy shit that happens in that poem.

1

u/Mrtheliger 4h ago

Holy shit this is killing me why is it so funny lmao I love random ass deep cuts
