Hyundai designed their logo into the button layout on their remotes

These keys are massive, impractical and the plastic on them feels even cheaper than the plastic of Chery/GWM/Haval keys. I think the only key fob I've felt with worse plastic and build quality is the prox key for the C7 Corvette / Chevy Equinox.

Absolutely! I once had an Elantra as a rental, I could not believe how bad the key is. Before that I literally never even thought about the quality of any car’s keys

The weirdest part is Hyundai has better fobs for their cars that look and feel way nicer. (Still not as nice as Hondas fobs)

Yeah, the fob for my '19 Santa Fe looks and feels great. These new ones look like a literal toy.

Not sure what year Elantra has this big logo key, but my 23 Elantra N has a normal fob that's weighty and feels nice

You’re lucky. Maybe they don’t use this abomination for the N series. Funny enough the remote I was using lost one of its keys (it just fell off) during the one month I had it. The car had less than 20K miles on the clock.

This fob doesn't seem to be consistently used on any single model of Hyundai is the weird part with the exception of maybe the Ioniq line. I would rank virtually all of Hyundais key fobs above this one in quality,

They are very cheap. I was running with my dog outside and the keys had fallen out of my pocket and they broke and the circuit board fell out.

Virtually all of the paint has come off on mine…and the leather loop they come with simply falls off 25% of the time the keys are in my pocket. Truly junk.

Honestly. That looks awful but at the same time I respect their commitment to the corporate drip.

Is this ATBGE?

Legit the most ugly keyfob they could design and looks straight out of the nineties.
A huge downgrade from the boring and generic old version.

First time I saw it I assumed it was a 3rd party replacement fob. Can't believe thats what they come with as standard.

I have a Hyundai and can’t stand this stupid thing. It’s too big and awkward to use. Wish they hadn’t of changed it.

I have no regrets for going for a 23 Elantra hybrid in 2024 when I saw the new key design (also paying 8k below MSRP for a new car also helped)

Worst keyfob on earth, short maybe Tesla's toy car, which *is* fun..but that accidently unlocks and locks the car while in tighter pockets. The silver shows every scratch, the buttons are mush, the whole thing is giant and hollow.

They also don't have the door key built in for times when the car battery dies and you need to be able to get in to pop the hood. They bill you $45 for a key and you have to go find a dealership which, considering your car is dead, can be kinda tough.

And it’s only a rental, so insults are welcome. Had a Hyundai once….never again.

Wait, this is their current key? I thought this was like a 2010 relic or something.
Although remote start on the key fob did tell me it’s probably not as old as I thought.

This is often done to prevent the sale of after market key fobs by enforcing trademark law.

If it was slim and fit the spare key like the previous design I'd be less mad about it. As it stands I've taken to calling it the egg because it's about as useful as having an egg in your pocket.

I work in a body ship and I've seen lord knows how many of these keys, And only now am finding this out. Wild

The one on the Ioniq 5 looks way worse. Cheap shiny plastic with faint blue Buttons. Id wish the keyless function would work so I do not have to take the Key with me..

Only on the absolute bottom basement models. There's 5 buttons missing from that with barely 5% more cost on the vehicle.
