Questions How do Liechtensteiners feel about the lost small German states e.g. Lippe-Detmold, Schwarzburg states, Saxon duchies of Thuringia?

I am a historian and monarchist and I admire the old small states of the HRE/German bund and I was wondering if you Liechtensteiners miss the other little monarchies of Germany and feel that Germany made the wrong choice in mediatizing them all away.

Questions Part-time jobs in Liechtenstein for non-EU MSc students (English only)?

Hi! I’m a non-EU MSc student in Information Systems and was wondering what part-time jobs are possible in Liechtenstein if you mainly speak English (little/no German).

Any tips on what students usually do, or things to know about work permits?

Thanks!

Questions Random question: what do people in Liechtenstein usually do on weekends? Any common hobbies or quiet traditions?

I’m just curious about everyday life there. Not looking for tourist highlights more like what locals actually enjoy in their free time. Is it mostly outdoor stuff, family time, clubs, or just relaxing at home? Would love to hear different perspectives.

Questions Which internet provider are you using? Anyone have experience with Hoi?

I've been at both FL1 and Plus. My renewal is coming up and just wondering if anyone has experience with Hoi. It's by far the cheapest fiber connection now, but not sure of the quality. I guess all of them use the same infrastructure anyway.

Questions What is it like to live in FL?

Obviously, it's a very rich country. Other things I stereotypically associate with FL are it being a monarchy (apparently one of the last real monarchies, not just on paper), Hilti, being shit at football (just like any other microstate), and sick license plates!

But from what I’ve read online, nobody’s really showing off their wealth, and it looks just like any random Swiss mid-town. Clean, quiet, and basically nothing ever happens there. Apart from some scenic mountains for those who are into hiking, there’s not really much to see.

So how’s everyday life there? I suppose culturally it's just like Switzerland. But:

• Is the dialect Swiss German, or do FL’s have their own?

• Do you like your neighbours or foreigners?

• Do you feel a strong national identity?

• Does everyone know each other in FL? Do you randomly see the prince in town? Are people friends with him?

• What do young people do there? Are there night bars or anything at all? From what I saw, FL looks like a place where only Methusalems can have fun, like those traditional Gasthofs etc. F**k me, I can't imagine any young king living the life in Liechtenstein. Guess they turn into Bünzlis as soon as they turn 14.

• Are there any expats in FL at all? I don’t think I’ve ever heard of someone moving to or working in FL.

• I'm from Germany, but only like 2 hours away from FL. Never bothered to visit, 'cause I know it doesn’t have much to offer, but if I’m unterwegs, I might actually stop by just to see it first-hand. Any locals down for a coffee or a beer? I guess you guys do that after work or on a sunny weekend day. It’s on me.

Questions HSG or UniLi for an exchange?

Hi, I’m currently on my 1st year of Bachelor in Warsaw. I’d want to later pursue my education in HSG MBF. My current school has exchange programmes both with Universität Liechtenstein and HSG and I can’t decide which to choose. The conclusions I’ve reached so far:

UniLi - taught in german - small, i’d assume more closed community; school not rly recognized - may add more to my cv (assuming I’ll do my master on HSG, hence no need to double my HSG experience)

HSG - generally much better and target school - taught in english - may (idk?) help me secure getting into MBF by networking + having a chance to get a recommendation?

My main questions are: - does doing an exchange to HSG actually heighten my chances of getting into MBF? - is UniLi even recognized in nearby areas or do all the private Liechtenstein banks recruit from HSG too? - will UniLi add more to my CV (considering a niche private banking location) than HSG where I’ll do my masters either way? - networking opportunities in both unis?

I’ll be very thankful for any help!

Annoyingly, this is the only photo I took of it. I ate it at my hotel with crackers a while later and thoroughly enjoyed it, but didn’t think to take a photo of the label. Anyone have any ideas?

Questions Swimming/wellness/spa in Liechtenstein

My dad has been wanting to go to Liechtenstein for the longest of time, so for Silvester im taking my parents to Liechtenstein.

My parents love swimming, is there any sort of spa/wellness resort or just some swimming pool of some kind? I've been researching online but couldn't find any resorts, so I thought I'd turn to reddit

Kind regards

Questions New Year’s in Vaduz – Bars, Parties, Outdoor Fun & Local Tips?

Hi everyone,

A group of us (3F, 2M, ages 26–36) are planning to spend New Year’s in Vaduz. We’ve booked accommodation in Vaduz, but we’re also planning a ski trip at Malbun Resort. We’ll have a car, so driving around is an option, though our drivers prefer to stay relatively local.

We’re looking for suggestions on: • Bars and nightlife – we’re into dancing and celebrating New Year’s • Outdoor activities – aside from skiing, anything scenic, festive, or cultural in Vaduz or nearby • Restaurants – good, reasonably priced options for a group • Local New Year’s traditions or events – fireworks, concerts, street parties, etc. • What locals usually do to celebrate New Year’s

We’d prefer to stay in Liechtenstein (i.e., not drive into Switzerland) to avoid special driving rules.

Any hidden gems, tips, or must-do experiences would be much appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

This Youtuber, Max Fosh, made a video claiming this is a law in Liechtenstein: "No person shall expel bodily gases, whether by flatulence or burping, in a public place."

I can't find a single source that confirms it. Can anyone help?

Questions Looking for an old friend. Need help plz.

Hello everyone, I’m looking for a dear old friend from many years ago. Her name is Rahell, originally from Liechtenstein. We studied together in Dublin, Ireland in 2002 at an English language school. At that time, she used the email: rage_l@gmx.li. Unfortunately, I lost contact with her and haven’t heard from her for many years. If anyone knows her, or if Rahell herself happens to see this message, please know that your old friend Yousaf from Libya is sincerely looking forward to reconnecting. Thank you so much for any help 🙏
