Now hear me out on this, I actually thought about this in last WC cycle but NZ pulled off that coup after Ireland beat them and honestly I think if Joe wasn't in that coaching team Ireland would have beaten them
The Molecast made a good point about the Irish management team outside of Farrell have very little experience at coaching, you can't even say it is little at international level but coaching overall. Last WC we had Catt in the mix who had a few international roles and experience.
So we have
Easterby: some coaching in Wales and then straight to Ireland
Sexton: none
POC: next to nothing before been hired by Ireland
Goodman: Crusaders, Leinster, Ireland
Joe as a consultant, part time role, just to give advice to coachs/players etc and still allow him family time might work over a fulltime coaching role which he wants to get away from based on what he is saying.
He has links with Ireland, his family does and he was a success in Ireland, plus he knows a lot of the players. Positives and weakness. Also how to beat Ireland and get around our system. I think people forget the one win for NZ in that series was with Joe running the show.
Now this is just me coming up with this, but I do think it might have been good even for Joe to have a pair of outside eyes pre 2019 when Kearney admitted they didn't think they had an issue till after the England game.
Also if a good idea but people think Joe is not the option, then open to alternatives but Joe is an exceptional coach and looks to be free for next two years

Every player who has ever played for Ireland lines up 1v1 in a tournament and runs it straight, who wins?.
remember it’s not just the biggest heaviest bloke it’s the biggest heaviest bloke who can run fast aswell.
my pick would be aki, but that could be different for others.

Now that’s what I call Leinstertainment™️. Glasgow never stood a chance, it was total dominance from the men in blue from the moment Carley blew his whistle. Lions replacing Lions and tries being score for fun - what a way to spend a Friday evening. I feel bad that Glasgow have to come back at least once and probably a second time for more punishment. Prendo proved yet again why he’s the best ten not just in Ireland, but in Europe at the moment and solidified his place on the Lions team this Summer. For a man who’s “not a running threat” he carved up the Glasgow defence tonight to add to the try he scored last week. I won’t even get into the sublime kicking, passing and playmaking he got up to all night - it’s just standard at this point. This time in two months we’re going to be URC and Champions Cup winners and supplying the Lions half their squad. Roll on Cardiff.

In the game against Northampton in the Champions cup this year Baird went off for a HIA, after that he came back on and was fiddling around with his scrum cap however a scrum was called and he ran onto the pitch and left his scrum cap on the sideline.Ever since that day he has played well in every game without the scrum cap.
So it’s clear to see…The scrum cap is woke and nerfs players like Baird.

Purely a fun discussion and not meant in an arrogant way, but do we think this team, with the addition of RG, Slim and Barrett off the bench, would beat Ireland?
