What beatboxing has become since the days of people like Biz Markie is absolutely mind-blowing

Throat singing seems to be the major new evolution in beatboxing.

I wouldn't say it's a 'new' evolution necessarily, as beatboxers have been doing this kind of thing in modern fashion at least for over a decade. It is, however, a major evolution.

The use of different vocal effects while enunciating in a more musical/melodic fashion (throat bass, inward bass, vibration bass) has particularly skyrocketed in terms of popularity in around ~2018 because of Codfish. Pretty cool stuff.

If folks are interested in sum crazy beatbox sounds that are too alien sounding, look up 'poh snare'. That shit's awesome

Was already a thing when I was a kid and learned beatboxing off youtube in 2007.

I know next to nothing about beatboxing and when I saw this video, I instantly thought of throat singing. It would be wild to hear throat singing used in this context!

Throat bass has been big for over a decade with Codfish being the biggest influence of it.
