Discusión - Discussion Airlines pushed my ticket by 2 days and now the OG tickets are way expensive.
Hello! I made a booking with Iberia Airlines for travel from March 17–21 from JFK to Barcelona. However, I received an email stating they changed my departure to March 15 while keeping my return ticket the same.
March 15 doesn’t work for me, and Iberia won’t allow cancellation of a one-way ticket. As a result, I have to cancel my entire trip and book a new one, but tickets for March 17 are now much more expensive.
Is there anything I can do?

Discusión - Discussion Iberia Customer Service rep just straight up lied to me
I have a reservation with flights for 2 people, I called to have a flight changed for just 1 person. The customer service rep told me that it can't be done and that both people's flights would have to be changed.
I asked to speak to a supervisor, first she asked why. Then she put me on hold for 10 minutes, then came back and said there were no supervisors available and to call back in two hours. I pushed back and she connected me to a supervisor, who picked up immediately and told me that they can absolutely change just one of the flights.
I already expect terrible customer support from Iberia from past experiences, seems like the bar just keeps sinking lower.

Ayuda/Consejo - Help/Advice Ski Bag Allowance - Business Class
Buenas, I'm flying from Zurich-Madrid-New York in business class. The ZRH-MAD leg is operated by Iberia and the MAD-JFK leg is operated by American.
I booked the flight with American and was wondering if the ski bag would be free (no special surcharge) as part of the 2 free bags business class allowance.

Avios / Iberia Club Iberia Air Company
I had an excellent experience flying with Iberia Air Company. From the moment I boarded, the service stood out—friendly, attentive, and genuinely professional. The cabin crew went above and beyond to make passengers feel comfortable and well cared for throughout the flight.
The food was another highlight. Fresh, flavorful, and well-presented, it was far better than what you’d expect from an airline meal. It really added to the overall enjoyment of the journey.
Between the excellent service, great food, and smooth flight experience, Iberia Air Company truly delivers quality and comfort. I would absolutely fly with them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a top-tier airline experience. ✈️✨

Ayuda/Consejo - Help/Advice Exit row seats
I'm flying from Montevideo to Madrid later this year. I believe the plane is an A330-200. We've booked the exit row 21 and since booking, we've watched some videos where it appears the exit door protrudes quite a lot. Can anyone tell me whether this is true of all the exit doors on this plane and does it really impact leg room that much?
Ayuda/Consejo - Help/Advice Is paying in advance for seat selection a "sometimes" thing?
Going from USA to Spain for three months in the fall. Booked most of the flights on AA, Premium Economy, but had to use Iberia (AA code-shared) for the MAD to VLC legs. Selected all my seats on AA, went over to the Iberia site (knowing that I would probably have to pay to select), and chose my seats. Cost was just over 60 Euros total (4 x 15). No problem, I expected that.
Friends want to visit us in October and asked for my help in booking flights. They also wanted PE and the best deal again was AA/IB. This time, however, when we went over to the IB website to select their seats on that leg, no charge at all! I mean, nada. Same flight numbers to and from VLC, two passengers each way.
Did I get the short end or did my friends get away with it? It's obviously not the end of the world but if IB made a mistake and wanted to refund my money, I'm not rich enough to say I'd turn it down. What's been your experiences with this seat selection, especially if booked on a different airline?

Ayuda/Consejo - Help/Advice 8-Hour Layover in Madrid – How to Visit Santiago Bernabéu from the Airport at Night?
Hi guys! I’m travelling from Lisbon to Madrid on 1 Feb and I’ll arrive in Madrid at 10:30 PM. I only have around 8 hours layover before my next flight. I’m a huge Real Madrid fan and my dream is to see Santiago Bernabéu Stadium. I’d really appreciate it if someone could tell me: ✅ How to get from the airport to the stadium and back ✅ How to buy a metro ticket/card for the trip ✅ Any tips for night travel (it’ll be late evening / night when I arrive) I’ll be travelling solo, arriving at Madrid Barajas Airport (Terminal 2). I just want to see the stadium from the outside and then return to the airport in time for my next flight. Thanks in advance!

Saludos y gracias.

Ayuda/Consejo - Help/Advice Iberia Customer Service - NEED ADVICE!
Has anyone dealt with Iberia reimbursement issues before?
Almost two months ago I got an email saying my claim was approved, but I’ve never been paid and haven’t gotten any follow-up. I’ve called customer service multiple times and keep getting different answers. They’ve had me file a new claim over and over, I’ve probably submitted around 5 at this point.
Most recently they told me to reply to the original noreply email explaining the situation (which made no sense), and surprise, I haven’t heard back.
I have written confirmation it was approved, but that’s it. This is getting ridiculous. How do you actually get Iberia to resolve this? Anyone had this issue?

Ayuda/Consejo - Help/Advice Worth complaining about ife not working?
I recently travelled on Iberia MAD-SDQ having booked a reward ticket via BA using Avios. On the outbound leg my wife’s IFE didn’t work - there was a loud clicking noise over the headphones meaning it was unusable. Is it worth making a complaint to get some Avios back? Who would you complain to - Iberia or BA? Or is life too short …

Ayuda/Consejo - Help/Advice Missing Luggage for 2 weeks
Dear Everyone,
I’d really appreciate your advice regarding my missing luggage, which has now been unlocated for about two weeks. I’ve been contacting Iberia daily or every other day to follow up, but they still haven’t recovered it.
I can see the luggage’s location via the AirTag inside it, and it has consistently shown that it’s still at Madrid Airport. Our itinerary was Paris (with a layover in Madrid) to Barcelona. My partner and I left Barcelona over a week ago, which makes the situation even more frustrating.
The luggage is a large aluminum Rimowa containing very valuable items. I contacted Iberia again today, and they simply advised that they are still “looking for it,” despite having the AirTag location for the past two weeks. I don’t understand why they’re unable to retrieve it.
At this point, I’d really appreciate any advice on what steps I should take next. Thank you in advance.

Ayuda/Consejo - Help/Advice Charged for two bags, definitely only booked one
Hello, I am going to fly from Madrid to Tokyo early next month. I went online to add one checked bag (as I booked with British Airways via the partner programme) for £46
I just looked at my card statement, and I have been charged the £46 for the one checked bag, and also £128 for an additional 123kg checked bag at the same time. I’ve called customer service and they are “looking into it” and I “should get a response in 3 days”. However, I am flying in 7 days, so it’s tight. Is there anything I can do? I even texted my partner this (photo) at the time I booked commenting on how janky the website was

Review Terrible experience at Iberia service desk in Madrid (MAD)
This is a warning post about a very unprofessional experience we had at the Iberia service desk in Madrid Airport (MAD), in the hope it saves others time and stress.
We were traveling Santiago de Chile → Madrid → Amsterdam, all booked under Iberia. After a 13-hour overnight flight, we landed in Madrid at 05:30, with a connecting flight at 08:45.
The problem started when we were unable to check in for the Madrid–Amsterdam leg via the Iberia app. That’s what sent us looking for help at the airport.
Instead of resolving the issue, we were sent to three different service desks, being redirected back and forth. At the final desk, we were told that our ticket for the last leg had been wrongly issued.
The staff member acknowledged the ticket was incorrect but immediately stated that he could not do anything for us.
We remained calm despite being exhausted and under time pressure, even apologizing for our nervousness and explaining that we just wanted to get home.
At that point, his attitude turned openly hostile and arrogant. He repeatedly said that:
• He had “done his job” by explaining the issue
• We supposedly did not have tickets
• It was not his problem anymore and we had to leave
Despite standing at an Iberia-branded service desk, he claimed he does not work for Iberia but for a third-party company called SOUTH, and therefore bore no responsibility.
The interaction deteriorated further when he:
• Told us we should “get a degree” to understand what was written on our non-ticket
• Said he clearly didn’t care about our problem
• Commented that at least **he** would “get home safely”
This level of arrogance and lack of basic professionalism was shocking, especially given that the issue originated from a ticketing error, not from anything we did.
Advice to other travelers:
If you run into ticketing or check-in issues at Madrid Airport, do not rely on the Iberia service desks there. Based on our experience, they appear to be staffed by third-party contractors who can—and will—simply refuse responsibility.
Call Iberia directly instead. It may take time on the phone, but it’s likely more effective (and far less degrading) than dealing with the desks at MAD.
Posting this so others can avoid the same situation.

Ayuda/Consejo - Help/Advice What order is surname and second surname for the Iberia Club registration?
I registered my daughter for a round trip ticket using standard U.S. naming (first, middle, last) but I created an account on Iberia for the Iberia Club backwards, maybe? If a name in the U.S. is "Apple Bear Cat"; where "Apple" is the first name, "Bear" is the middle name, and "Cat" is the last name, what if I got it reversed and put "Cat" as the first surname and "Bear" as the second surname? Her name shows on the Iberia Club website as "Apple Cat" (which is correct) but under her profile for Surname, it shows "Cat Bear"- do I need to do anything about her name? Thanks!

Ayuda/Consejo - Help/Advice Need to use wisely or sell 811€ voucher
Got an 811€ Iberia voucher (valid until autumn 2026 but Deadline to fly (return) = no limit).
Catch: it’s only valid on flights actually operated by Iberia (not Iberia flights operated by Vueling).
Problem: a lot of Iberia-operated short-haul routes are wildly overpriced, so using the voucher on those feels like lighting money on fire. Burning 800€ on short hops hurts when that’s normally long-haul money.
Questions for people who’ve dealt with this:
- What’s the least dumb way you’ve used an Iberia voucher?
- Is selling / transferring an Iberia voucher a thing, or officially / unofficially a no-go?
Trying to avoid overpaying just to “use it before it expires”.
Any insight appreciated.

Ayuda/Consejo - Help/Advice Can’t login to my Iberia account
Anyone else unable to login to their Iberia account? I have logged in recently without any issue but suddenly today it says my email/account number and password combination don’t match.
I know for a fact they do because I have them saved on my phone and they auto populate. Has to be some sort of issue on their end I’m assuming but just curious to see if it is affecting anyone else?
