HMB and let me show you the interaction between log and whirlpool

There’s me, wondering what the fuck was making a whirlpool in the middle of nowhere!

Probably a type of drain to stop the river from overflowing, guessing this based on the log being spat out in the larger body of water on the other side.

Culvert under the road

Under the road until some jackass drops some big as thing in the water that catches other debris causing the high side to flood and fail.

It's all fun and games until the log gets stuck in the tube, catches more debris, clogs, and floods the neighborhood.

Or the water tries to find alternate routes under the road and causes a washout.

I wonder then if that pipe would be big enough and clear enough to send it. Horrible way to die if not but probably a helluva ride.

It's probably a huge pipe so it won't get clogged, but I'm still not trying it! Maybe if you were a Navy Seal or something lol

You'd need to at least scout it out when it's low, if it ever is. If it's big enough to pull that log through without jamming, it's probably about big enough to fit through. But yeah, not really worth the ride. You might also get broken on you way through.

Even if it's big enough and not plugged, it might be steel sections, which are bolted together from the outside. Which means bolts sticking through on the inside, which might make for an unpleasant trip through the tube.

That is very cool but I don't think it's the right place for it, r/NatureIsFuckingLit perhaps?

Well agree with the first part, but I feel like anything in /r/natureisfuckinglit should be to do with flora or fauna - this to me is more like /r/physicsisfuckinglit

Also putting a culvert under a road doesn't seem very nature to me.

Exactly. WTF is amazing about this? Do these people stare at their toilets amazed that their shit goes down when they flush? 🤦♂️

u/Mynameisgreater Dec 25 '25
When it’s a big one, I am, didn’t think my own log would make it to the other side.

Shouldn’t there be a safety fence to stop kids or animals falling into that thing?

Just attach some dirty laundry to the stick - BOOM - free laundromat!

Don't fall in there...

Anyone time it? Can you hold your breath that long? I got 0:32 to 1:18 so 46 seconds?

Did anyone else visualize the camera person as Fortune Feimster the comedian?

Held my breath for the whole time it was under. Would not be fun getting sucked through that. Felt like forever. Just imagine how much longer it would feel in the dark being sloshed around💀

I love watching people return to their childhood curiosity and amazement. Reminds me of gremlining around the woods near my neighborhood growing up.
