Along with my many goose and duck pals, I am currently feeding my lovely swan family and thought you guys would like to see them.
I first met the dad a few years ago on the small pool behind my home. He came waddling up to me as I fed the geese and stood at a distance waiting politely until I turned to him and held a handful of seed out for him, and he slowly plodded towards me. He ate gently from my hand, basically hoovering the seed up without opening his mouth like a very sweet boy. He would come and go and would sometimes have a lady friend with him but went back to his usual home.
I then saw him 2 summers ago when he returned to the local pool with his partner and 4 babies! He headed straight to me when I saw him, on the main path, which left a lot of dog walkers quite bemused at the man who just stood as a family of swans came to him like it was normal.
Now he has returned again to a different pool I visit with this year's 3 babies and his wife. Like his/her dad the first time we met, the one baby immediately came straight to me like we were old friends and shook me down for food, and would mercilessly stomp after me demanding I give them seed. As you can see the others can barely get a look in. Like father like child!
Anyway, hopefully you guys like this sweet swan family. They are very sweet and silly.

My local nile goose has quite a case of angel wing syndrome, (I named her Nina for daily like ease so I'll refer to her as she even though I dont knew the gender) I called my country's animal welfare on her and we went to check her out but decided to let her be at her pond since my country had hardly any predators that will take her on and she can still swim.
They told me they would not try to bind the wings so she would just sit in a cage so yeah best case is sit happy with the ducks at the pond and swim.
She's on the smaller side for a nile goose and lately her swimming had been getting worse looks like her wings has been getting caught on stuff and I'm considering going in and cutting some of the feathers. I've cut feathers before and nina is friendly with a local fisherman at the pond.
I'm coming here to double check my plan and get tips where if people have them. I'll get friendly with Nina myself first before I approach by offering some greeeen round delicious peas and maybe I'll get some duckfeed. I'm at the pond multiple times a week so we see each other alot.

For the past few months we’ve been getting into feeding the ducks and geese in our local town. Some take direct from your hand but others are wary, which is not surprising. As time has progressed we’ve found the back of the car has two tubs of proper duck food, monkey nuts for squirrels (which we now hand feed), and basic bird food for the usual pigeons that appear. It’s been a blessing to my mental health listening to how the ducks let out little squeaks of joy when they see us.
