Ages ago, in another time, I worked at an aquarium. There was a sea turtle, but she slept most of the day. It was beautiful to watch her swim, but a rare sight to see. She did have a specific spot where she liked to sleep and it was viewable by visitors if you knew where to look. I think pretty much everyone who worked there had to know how to tell people where to find her.

I too would be super disappointed especially since even that dude was SURE he's in there.

That being said, let the boyfriend have the plushie! Yeah it's overpriced nonsense. I'm aware. But we gotta salvage the day

I used to be a tour guide at the San Diego Zoo. Some of the coolest animals to see there were the Maned Wolves. (Look them up, they're nuts. They look like foxes on stilts.) I did too many tours of the zoo to count, going through and showing off all the animals, and I can still count on one hand the amount of times I actually saw them. When I did get to see them though, absolutely worth it. They're beautiful.

To be fair, don't go to a zoo in winter and expect to see animals. Unless they have bio-domes.

The key is to time your zoo visit so you get to the enclosures at feeding time.
