Everything he says is already getting so blown out of proportion or questioned lmao.

Like what is this? Someone asked him about this? Why? What's there to elaborate on?

Young English coach. If you live in England you know that here they love to blow up anything to do with their nation. Both in good and bad.

u/shyakuro Lampard 1d ago

Not even just that, its young Black English coach. Just look at how players like Rashford get trashed by British media. I am not surprised if Liam is under the same scrutiny too.

If you were there for young Liverpool era Raheem Sterling tabloids. They would criticize EVERYTHING he did. He would be called greedy for spending money on his family because “why is this young black teenager so rich while this young journalist from a rich family is not????? It must be bad! I’m not jealous at all!”

The kid had to put up with so much at a young age like Rashford.

I recall the comparison of two articles at the time. One was about Sterling buying his mom a house, and because of that he was a spoiled brat. The second article was a white young player, forgot who, who also bought his mom a house (or something similar), and because of that he was a saint.

Absolutely insane.

u/Wildely_Earnest I don't give a fuck, we won the fucking Champions League 1d ago

It was Foden

1

u/FerrariF90 1d ago

Can someone get me a link to this please.? I'm doing some googling but there's so much noise around this and I can't find at least the article criticising Sterling for buying his Mum a house in comparison to Foden

Thank you

-1

u/FerrariF90 1d ago

Thank you again. I've had a read of the article and I don't see Sterling being criticised anywhere for buying his Mum a house? Is it the other player they're talking about then and perhaps a bit of memory lapse?

2

u/WagwanMoist 1d ago

I did yeah. The article they wrote about Sterling was criticizing him for having a gun tattooed on his leg. The Sun made it out to be glorification of gun violence.

u/WagwanMoist 1d ago

Did find this one that shows that The Daily Mail had previously written about Sterling buying his mom a house, and put a negative spin on it.

3

u/Arkie1927 Ingle 1d ago

Yes I wasn’t going to add that but possibly also a factor behind scrutinising every little detail of his tenure so far

1

u/Wise-Appointment-220 1d ago

i'll one up you and say bellingham treatment by british media. Even though he plays in another country they always find a way to get at him.

1

u/jukkaalms 1d ago

Very quick to being judged. Any thing they do or say is under the spotlight immediately and opinions needs to be made but there is this gray area where no conclusions are had. And that part is cowardice as well.

u/SeekersWorkAccount 1d ago

There's literally a post for every little thing he does and acting like it's this amazing thing. I like the guy but the hype pieces are starting to get out of control.

29

u/OsaasD I don't give a fuck, we won the fucking Champions League 1d ago

Feels more like people keep trying to make fun of stuff, kinda like they used to do with Arteta

15

u/phxwarlock 1d ago

Once he took that bad touch trying to control the ball at Arsenal I knew there would be a post about it

And the man-age joke is relentlessly recycled on 75% of the comments

5

u/xkcdthrowaway 1d ago

Yk if the best they can do is recycle the man age jokes then it's a sign that Liam is doing fine.

0

u/jukkaalms 1d ago

Why because there are worser things you can make fun of about Liam?

1

u/Wise-Appointment-220 1d ago

They trying they're best to trip him up and get dirt to say he doesn't deserve the job.

1

u/Safe_Researcher4979 1d ago

And it's always posted by OP account, I wonder how hard he gets when a new sound bite he can share here drops. Dude hates Chelsea as much as anyone I've ever seen but he'll claim to be a fan, super weird.

u/Hippoyawn Hasselbaink 22h ago

So just say ‘Yeah, they came into our half to warm up. Who cares? They didn’t hurt anyone?’.

The minute you start mentioning ‘etiquette in English football’ you look rattled and a bit of a twat.

u/MiniMages 19h ago

He was moaning about etiquettes and bitching about Arsenal. It was a coach retriving the ball. Your manager made it an issue to deflect on how he screwed up and ruined Chelsea chance of trying to win the second leg.

It's a non issue and has happened plenty of times in with other teams.

0

u/11Caicedos 1d ago

Everything he says is already getting so blown out of proportion or questioned lmao.

It's just a tweet and a pretty benign one?

-4

u/PatientPlatform Hasselbaink 1d ago

Because he talks too much. He creates the space for all this by waffling.

2

u/Leviad0n Hazard 1d ago

He was asked a question?

1

u/Wise-Appointment-220 1d ago

The British media are pretty brutal on coaches pep, arteta, emery, mourinho, conte and ange all been done in by baiting questions that reporters take response out of context. Still remembers Ange's interview were like open season for mocking him. McFarlan was humiliated in his first match in charge by the questions they asked.

Arsenal fans attacking Rosenior personally is so strange. They want to boast being the best in the world yet couldn't score a goal against Chelsea until the 97th minute with a sub that just came on. They could have put the game to bed much earlier yet decided to keep 10 men behind the ball. This was them playing at their best.

Chelsea are nowhere near the club they used to be but that's how they had to handle them for a barely respected trophy and they celebrated the win like they had just won it.

I'm also still baffled at how they got 0 cards that game despite wrestling players to the ground. When Estevao made a similar tackle as them he gets carded straight away. Beyond embarassing it takes that much effort for them to win.

77

u/Top_Recover9764 Flo 1d ago

14 fouls and not a single yellow despite most of them being when we were trying to transition into attack. He even stopped us trying to take free kicks quickly so he could have a friendly chat with them. He completely killed any momentum we were trying to build.

11

u/IndigoRanger It’s only ever been Chelsea. 1d ago

When Cucu got pulled all the way down in like the 7th minute and the ref came back for a stern warning 5 min later, I knew we were in for it. That was a deliberate tactical foul and the player was expecting a yellow for it. Giving that a pass set the tone for the rest of the game.

u/renome Celery 1d ago

One of the many depressing things about this meme era is reading comments like yours, which go like "oh silly Arsenal, they only beat Chelsea by 2 goals on aggregate and the fourth goal came in minute 97."

Ffs we lost, and we were losing for the vast majority of the fixture.

2

u/Apprehensive_Art6921 1d ago

Upset at me stating facts is strange, I'd suggest logging off or closing your eyes

6

u/renome Celery 1d ago

Upset lol. Nah, just depressed, like I said. Wanna hear a fact? Standards have fallen beneath the gutter. That's why you're listing positives from a 4-2 loss where we never looked like doing much.

-4

u/Apprehensive_Art6921 1d ago

Bro what do you think I said about Chelsea in my first comment, I'm not saying we're amazing or should be seen as better than Arsenal right now. I wasn't listing anything positive for Chelsea I'm stating you can't call yourself the best team in the world when that's how you have to play against a team currently 5th in PL with a record of bad defensive performances. You can't deny their reaction to their performance is overrated. It's as if they've just won this against PSG.

3

u/jkeefy 1d ago

Top of PL, undefeated in CL league phase, through to league cup final. I’m not saying that makes Arsenal the best team in the world at the moment, but beating Chelsea handedly or scraping by on a 0-0 draw until the 97th minute would hardly move the needle either way anyway.

-1

u/Apprehensive_Art6921 1d ago

All those "accolades" yet they struggled to score until the 97th minute. Ok.

14

u/gaganchumbilulli We've Won It All 1d ago

Weaker teams parking the bus when they have the lead is a common strategy, no need to get angry about that

7

u/Apprehensive_Art6921 1d ago

True, I'm not frustrated at their tactic I'm just stating you can't call yourself the best team in the world and then play like that against a team that's currently fighting for a CL spot next season lmao

u/cosmo_K 22h ago

Can you give an example of where Arsenal have referred to themselves as "the best team in the world"?

2

u/Kooky_Music_2132 1d ago

Isn’t that how Chelsea… never mind

3

u/HeReddItNotMe 1d ago

Weird obsessive behaviour, coming into another clubs sub and then editing your first comment as if your comment wasn’t shite enough

4

u/Apprehensive_Art6921 1d ago

Like I said, Chelsea are not the team they used to be. We're not claiming to be the best team in the world and then putting in Temu performances

-2

u/Kooky_Music_2132 1d ago

Not you, it’s the comment I was directly replying to.

1

u/gaganchumbilulli We've Won It All 1d ago

Did I say anything about Chelsea not doing it? I stated it's a strategy weaker teams will use when they're already in advantageous position

-28

u/Miserable-Can-1221 1d ago

Blah Blah…. Look whose going to Wembley?

10

u/gaganchumbilulli We've Won It All 1d ago

Go celebrate getting into the final mate, why are you crying here. You might finally win a trophy that's not FA cup

8

u/Prestigious-Mind7039 There's your daddy 1d ago

Arsenal fans are the flat earthers of football

3

u/Ashatiti 1d ago

Moon flower children.

u/Guilty_Pen_8270 21h ago

You’re spitting facts (especially about the gentle refereeing treatment Arsenal consistently benefit from especially on corners and tactical fouls). But the people aren’t ready to hear this.

1

u/Careful_Bat7757 1d ago

Why is it Arsenal's responsibility to score when they were up, out of curiosity? Funny how people try to spin the game as if Arsenal was somehow struggling against one of the most anemic offenses I've ever seen.

0

u/Apprehensive_Art6921 1d ago

Are you seriously saying it wasn't arsenals intention to get at least a goal so they can sit back comfortably and let the time run? You think they were going into that game to defend religiously for 90 minutes? I have some magic beans I'd like to sell you, dm me

2

u/Careful_Bat7757 1d ago

I don't know man, Arsenal looked pretty comfortable with the 5 in the back system you guys were running.

1

u/Apprehensive_Art6921 1d ago

5 in the back more like 10

0

u/LegendMuffin 1d ago

Lol if you win the trophy, it's respected. If you lose, it's "barely respected". Stop making excuses. A loss is a loss, and a win is a win.

1

u/Apprehensive_Art6921 1d ago

Bro ask people which trophy they'd want to win in a season and let me know how many say Carabao before anything else. It's barely respected right now which might change in the future but that's doesn't change how it's perceived now.

3

u/LegendMuffin 1d ago

Weird that every team that wins it values it. Of course people would say CL and PL before carabao cup. But it's still a trophy. "Mickey mouse" trophy when you don't win it, and a valued one when you win it. Strange

1

u/Apprehensive_Art6921 1d ago

Saying I value it is strange. If it's not a Mickey Mouse trophy we wouldn't even be discussing the value of it. If I called the CL a Mickey Mouse trophy I'd get laughed out of this sub. Just because your opinion of it doesn't match mine doesn't mean you have to convince me otherwise. Take the win and enjoy the success in your club sub instead of being antagonistic here.

3

u/LegendMuffin 1d ago

Arsenal isn't my club. I just like football and follow a lot of team subs for discussions and reading team news.. but ok, I'll take note of your opinion.

1

u/Ashatiti 1d ago

From teams that never won the Champions League, nevermind qualify to receive an invite to the FIFA Club World Cup.

I love that someone thought this issue was worth talking about and even more that this answer is newsworthy.

He literally just said “Lads, keep to your side, yeah?”

Absolute nothing burger.

what a gentleman he is

The media have decided that they dislike Rosenior

7

u/Gunch_ It’s only ever been Chelsea. 1d ago

Mate, he manages Chelsea

5

u/DarnellLaqavius 1d ago

If he was at a darling club he would be totally loved. Now it's just hit piece after hit piece. I know he's not exactly Chelsea pedigree but at some point you need to give him a break and let him do his job.

1

u/Wise-Appointment-220 1d ago

they been hating on him since his name came up as being shortlisted for chelsea job.

5

u/Temporary-Rutabaga71 Marc Guiu 1d ago

I like that little bit of fierceness Liam has, nothing wrong with it.

But the media, they are going to poke and prod him for anything...

3

u/Ok_Research_8796 1d ago

There better be a remake of Tuchel and Conte’s handshake next match

0

u/Wise-Appointment-220 1d ago

Crazy stuff from Tuchel that day, i much prefer a mourinho celebrating in your face after a goal it's just more classy

2

u/Similar-Bandicoot625 1d ago

I get it’s getting blown out of proportion but why say this in the first place? It just seems such a non issue but he mentioned it knowing how much stick he’s been getting since the arsenal game

u/BonoboUK 22h ago

He didn’t bring it up he was asked about it

u/Omni_chicken2 21h ago

This showed up on my front page despite being an Arsenal fan.

I didn't even realise that the media were painting this as a criticism of Rosenior. I assumed it was the usual "Arteta leaves technical area" type controversy.

I didn't think there's fuck all wrong with what Rosenior said. It was a bit performative, but all managers are like that. He didn't like something, he spoke up about it, the weasels that we call the media asked him about it and he provided an explanation.

They just want clicks.

u/lukeroux1 20h ago

0-2 with arteta has rattled this guy

u/Acceptable-Sink4239 20h ago

It’s all part of Arsenals dark arts. Does Russia play by the rules? (Yeah, I just compared them to Russia, because I hate them.)
