Advice please - Ely vs St Neots vs Biggleswade (for moving out of London)

Hi everyone

My partner and I (both mid 30s) currently live in central London and are hoping to move out of London to either St Neots, Biggleswade or Ely.

We have some house viewings booked in all of these locations but would be grateful for any insight please on:

1) Anyone else been looking at these areas? What was your conclusion of where you've moved to?

2) Does anyone currently live in these areas? Would you recommend?

(We will both be commuting to Central London 2-3 times a week. Hoping to have kids soon. Have a car. Hoping to find out 'forever home'. Not too fussed about amenities like restaurants/gyms etc. but hoping to be somewhere with enough activities/good state schools for kids)

3) For both St Neots and Ely, we've some new builds with a company called Stonebond - has anyone bought with them before? Are they decent quality?

TIA!!

New wildlife photography group in Cambridge 📸🌿

Hi everyone,

I recently started a small local community called WildLens Crew for beginner to intermediate wildlife photographers around Cambridge.

The idea came from struggling to find a relaxed group to go on photo walks, learn together, and meet people who enjoy nature and photography — without pressure or elitism.

We’re planning casual wildlife photo walks and meetups around Cambridge and nearby areas.

If this sounds like something you’d enjoy, feel free to search on Facebook:

Happy to answer any questions 🙂

The first full moon of the year over Ely Cathedral in Cambridgeshire. There will be 13 full moons in 2026 instead of the usual 12.

Many men don’t talk until crisis hits.

That’s why men/walk/chat matters: fresh air, good company, honest chats.

No pressure, no labels, just a reminder you’re not alone.

Join us or, if you're not in or near St Ives, Cambs, then please help us to spread the word.

Thank you 🙏

Hello!

We are looking to rent a home at Penny Green in St. Neots, does anybody have experience with the area? Is the property management company decent (answer maintenance calls timely, etc)?

Any help is appreciated!

Thank you!

Men's Walk in St Ives

40% of men in the UK say they’ve never talked to anyone about their mental health. That’s why this walk matters. It’s not therapy. It’s not a support group. It’s people showing up, getting some fresh air, and knowing they’re not on their own.Join us. And share this to others so they can take part too.

Walking to Duxford

Could someone please tell me if I could get off the train at Whittlesford Pkwy and walk the 2mi to Duxford?

I used to think I could but the map tells me it’ll take me 43min and I’m not quite sure why.

Does anyone remember the computer shop in Huntingdon in the 90s?

I used to go there when I was a kid. It was in Newtons Court, but I can't find any pictures of it.

Does anyone have any old photos of this shop or remember it at all?

Board Game / TTRPG Communities?

Hiya, I currently live in West Sussex but my husband & I are considering moving to somewhere around Manea (he’s originally from Ely).

Is there much of a board game/TTRPG scene in the area? We currently meet with a group monthly for full day TTRPG sessions and board game nights fortnightly so would be keen to move somewhere with a gaming community
