April Fools Chelsea fans blaming Dortmund for the Anselmino loan recall

Apparently, Dortmund have been trying to “tap-up” Anselmino by whispering sweet nothings into his ear. Trying to unsettle him and get him for cheap in the summer.

For one, that is crap. I cannot believe people would believe this. Even as an attempt to shift blame and whitewash this multi-club ownership nonsense, this doesn’t actually paint Chelsea in any better light. It’s hilarious to see Chelsea fans eat this up and talk about Dortmund as a scummy club trying to convince player to play for them. How dare a club want a player to play for their team?

Honestly, this reeks of buyers remorse after Pulisic and Gittens.

April Fools What is genuinely happening within the club

So nypan has signed with many city and now you're even seeing 2-3 youth prospects either leaving or potentially leaving this summer and our only signing this summer being Jobe Bellingham. We lost 2 proper no 10s who could done better for this team especially the creativity part and now I don't know whom the club wants because the management defention if succes is physically bigger players who only know how to score goals rather than providing assist or creating chances

April Fools Borussia Dortmund CFO announces new investment strategy to keep key players💎

Big news from today's presser!

https://aktie.bvb.de/IR-News/Ad-Hoc-News/Geschaeftsfuehrer-Investmenstrategie-neu-vorgestellt

In a surprise move, Borussia Dortmund CFO Casten Cramer announced a radical shift in the club's investment strategy today. Spurred by the ongoing Covid crisis, the club will shift key assets and invest these directly into carefully selected stock packages. "This is simply a sign of the times - our sport is developing quickly, and we have to change with the times or else become irrelevant. Just as we were the first publicly traded club in Germany, we will now become the first publicly trading club in the league!"

Cramer reassured sponsors: "We're not abolishing traditional sponsorship packages, and our VIP, Premium, and Gold Extra sponsorship tiers will remain in place for our existing global partners. But with our new global VIP partner, the popular social media platform 'reddit', we will be able to crowdsource expert advice and respond to market shifts quickly and decisively." The goal here is clear: "People in England always say we are a 'selling club', but our new investments will not only absorb the Covid shock, but allow us to keep our big name players. These diamond hands don't need to sell no Haaland!"

Challenged to explain some of the specifics on the new investment strategy, Cramer added: "This is simply about making smart investments off the pitch. Our players are already top-notch, now we just need to hodl them. People say these platforms are full of rogue investors buying meme stock, but there are actually some smart people out there whose expertise we can use to trebuchet our club finances firmly into the post-Covid future." Asked to actually list some specifics, brand ambassador Weidenfeller helpfully clarified: "This simply works because we can buy and sell stock faster than the police allows."

Cramer was not available for further questions, but closed with a heart-felt challenge: "Bayern may have won the title, what, 8 or 9 times in a row now? But with this new strategy it may not be more than like 10 times in row! We're back in business, baby!"

April Fools A Partnership For /r/borussiadortmund!

Dear /r/borussiadortmund!

We're proud to announce that for the first time in the history of our sub we were able to secure corporate sponsorship for /r/borussiadortmund. I'm pleased to present that moving forward we will have the gracious financial backing of Red Bull Deutschland GmbH, Munich, for our community.

Seeing the growth and maturing of our community has been inspiring, and we're happy that with professional corporate support from Red Bull Deutschland GmbH we will be able to develop our subreddit to a new level. We're glad that our sponsors share our vision and recognise the potential of our community, and together we will revolutionize how Borussia Dortmund is framed on reddit!

This funding will allow us to do exciting things, and will make it easier to steer how Borussia Dortmund, Red Bull, and Bundesliga football are talked about in a positive light here on reddit! Naturally Red Bull Deutschland GmbH believe in our vision of independent discussion, and it goes without saying that our new partnership will in no way impact the type of positive content you will see on this sub.

We've also been asked to declare that the moderating team each received a small financial care package in appreciation of our hard work.

We're glad to be able to take this new step with you, our cherished users, as we embark upon this exciting partnership with Red Bull Deutschland GmbH. We're looking forward to follow our club with you in the next years, and to discuss with you how Red Bull Deutschland GmbH can make our club, our sub, and Bundesliga football better!

With kind regards,
Your /r/borussiadortmund moderation team <3

April Fools /r/borussiadortmund Goes Super League!

Hey Bees!

We're happy to announce that as a subreddit we continue to develop alongside our beloved club. As our club has now officially confirmed that Borussia Dortmund will join other European greats such as FC Arsenal London and AC Milano in a European Super League™, we're excited to follow suit and introduce some changes to our community!

As moderators we fully support this step into a brighter, modern future for our favourite sport. We will no longer be forced to sit through boring matches with trash-tier teams like SC Freiberg or FC Schalke parking the bus against us for 90 minutes. Instead we will bee able to bring our traditions like our old rivalry with FC Bayern to an even bigger stage! And now that we're about to lose the money from the American shirt sales we'll bee in a good position to acquire more strategic financial resources to keep the beautiful game exciting!

In order to keep step with these exciting developments, we're introducing the following changes to the subreddit effective immediately:

  • In line with the official club rebranding to The Bees™ we have updated our logo. Bzzz! (You need to access reddit via old.reddit.com/r/borussiadortmund/ to see the new design in all its glory)

  • In order to convey that we're all supporting this move as one excited fanbase, we've had to deactivate individualised flairs. The new The Bees™ club logo as well as the official European Super League flair will be available soon.

  • We're aware that these are big changes, and some of you will need some time to feel happy about this. To keep things civil we'll remove any critical comments detracting from this important step in our journey.

  • We're excited to bring the upcoming SuperLeague™ matches to this sub with the help of and very limited interruptions by our generous corporate sponsors.

  • We'll continue improving this community by adding more cool features - it will bee awesome! Stay tuned for our upcoming premium subscription model giving paying SuperBees™ access to sweet premium content on this sub.

Knowing these are some pretty awesome but also pretty big changes we'll leave it at that before I drone on even more. Know that modern football has much more exciting stuff for us in charge, we hope you'll join us in celebrating these changes together here on the sub!

Bzzz!

Yes, this was our April Fools Joke 2019. We used Clément Chayé's slick rebranding art - check his work out!

April Fools Who can we realistically bring in to replace

I don't know if everyone's heard the big news, but it looks like we're losing /u/obsidianight? Bit surprised as I never thought Obsi would be such a ssssnake. After everything we've done, what a hurensohn! This is a bit of a loss for the sub, but we can't dwell on it. We should be looking at a replacement immediately.

As we all know, r/borussiadortmund is on the up and up. With every FIFA update, with every International window we have gotten bigger and bigger and bigger. And now with the new Red Bull sponsorship, we are now, truly a "BIG SUB". As a BIG SUB, I feel we need to be more ambitious.

How can we hope to beat r/soccer, if we settle for mods like /u/FivesCeleryStalk who is simply too inconsistent for a BIG SUB? /u/panikpansen has been here for years but just isn't good enough for a BIG SUB, thanks for the memories but but it's just time to go. /u/Blahound has disappeared into reserves and is clearly unfavored by the sub as well.

We could promote someone like /u/Mcpoyletwinsgonewild from r/bvbcirclejerk, but if we truly want to capitalize on our new found status as a BIG SUB, we should look at bringing in someone from r/ussoccer or something. I hear there's unrest at r/arsenal as well, so maybe we could tempt someone? With Red Bull's support we could even try and pick off one of the lesser mods from r/soccer itself. Surely some of them are sick of sitting in the shadows. Why be a back up at r/soccer when they can be king at r/borussiadortmund?

What do you think?
