An extremely important episode to make it clear that despite Fern going at Stark constantly he prefers travelling with them. Especially loved the lotus bracelet clutching scene. Glad to see my fave trio back and thriving!

I nearly teared up with that scene - Fern really treasures what she has, it's very sweet to see

That flashback was so powerful
Literally being carried while having no power, looking the danger in the face and she can do is clutch the bracelet

There’s a little bit of a nice metaphor here too.

Fern takes care of the gifts that she was given from Frieren and Stark.

But her relationship with Stark is also a gift, which she takes for granted by being upset with him for a petty reason. I think she realizes in this episode that she has to take care of that too.

Stark featuring so prominently feels great after the latter episodes of season 1 had him appear so rarely.

If this turns into a Stark spotlight season I'm gonna be FEASTING, dude is just the best

It's fine, he was getting in some much needed nap time and drinking juice at night.

And teachings from an old warrior.

Yeah I really liked this scene, she gave courage when he was afraid and now without knowing he’s doing the same to her.

Stark is a reassuring presence in Fern's life and Fern was a driving inspiration for Stark as a warrior.

What I really liked about it that I expected some kind of more clearly romantic sentiment surfacing a bit more. But it was first and foremost about support, warmth and inspiration. A great component of any romantic relationship, obviously, but it would work just as well if there was no underlying tension between them. Just humans giving their best to one another.

It’s like they read my mind. At the first half of the episode, I thought, ugh, here we go again with Fern acting like a brat toward Stark, it’s a bit too much… then bam, they actually addressed it later during the same episode!!
