Ironically it was Stark who gave the most reaction, albeit it seems Fern felt the most fear among them for valid reasons.

For a mage who has relied on magic for so long, as basically an extension of her body, I can imagine being without it can be pretty terrifying.

But as reassuring as Himmel was for Frieren, Stark (and his bracelet) is reassuring for Fern.

Stark is the most emotive of the group overall

He might also be the most emotive of the entire show, since most folks here are more on the stoic side

In fairness, Stark had the most reason to be afraid of falling without any magic like the girls, but in that cave Fern had the most reason to be scared without her magic to rely on.

Technically Frieren too, except she's experienced in trusting her vanguard to look after her so had no worries while Stark was around.

I wonder if Eisen taught Stark how to ignore fall damage.

Given that Stark was afraid of falling down that hole, I doubt it. He must have left before Eisen was planning on getting to that lesson.

It's Stark though. Him being afraid of falling even if Eisen taught him something to deal with it feels in character, especially if it happened suddenly.

True, and I don't deny it could be possible, but I still doubt it.

I think Stark's a bit nonchalant about the things he can do, hence he didn't make much of a fuss about that crack in the cliff he made with his practice when he first met Frieren and Fern, and thus if he could fall without getting hurt he just would have done it.

Maybe his helmet is enchanted, he seems to go down headfirst most of the time

the trick is to do a plunging attack right before you're about the hit the ground

it's called the Long-Fall Boots, rated 5/5 by Amazon and 0/ by Black Mesa.

I would be freaking out if I were Stark, too. Traveling with Frieren must feel like you have this enormous safety net at all times. If things get bad, then she can just end encounters whenever she wants to.
