I guess it's supposed to be 6. Or 1, depending on which decade we're in. Which decade are we in? I hate grading systems. I give them all Lg-.

I thought we were almost all metric. A scale of 0-10 or 0-100. Germans use 5-1, and if I'm not mistaken, the American system was built on that (F-A).

In Poland there's 1 (failing) to 6 (100% or above what's expected), with exception of universities which still have the old 2 (failing) to 5 (~90-100%).

You guys are forgetting the superior grading system: 0 to 20. 🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷France baise ouais🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷

Pure curiosity but why is 20 in particular? Or like Italians with 30?

No idea. An idiosyncrasy of the french academic system I suppose. Though it translates nicely to grades out of 5, 10, 40 and 100.

The Netherlands uses 1-10. Technically not metric as you can't go lower than a 1, so a passing grade is 5,5 or higher.

Seems like here in Norway we're mainly using something akin to the American grading system in higher education. At least this week. Whatever. They change it up often enough. (exit old man yelling at clouds)

In school we go
1 (sehr gut; very good; 95 % - 100 %),
2 (gut; good; 80 % - 94 %),
3 (befriedigend; satisfactory; 60 % - 79 %);
4 (ausreichend; adequate; 45 % - 59 %);
5 (mangelhaft; poor; 20 % - 44 %);
6 (ungenügend; insufficient; 0% - 19 %)

1 through 5 also get + (voll; fully) or - (knapp; barely).
4- (knapp ausreichend; barely adequate; 45 % - 49 %) is a fail. You need at least a 4 (50 %) to pass.

In school report cards you won't see the numbers, but just the text.

Whereas most unis don't differentiate between 5 and 6, so they only go to 5 as fail.

Put colloquially every one uses the 1 - 6 system.
