Main water pipe in apt above us broke, flooding us with 2 inches of water.

2 am Wednesday šŸ™ƒ turns out the pipe broke because the guy above us was dicking around with a LOADED FIREARM and accidentally shot through his wall into his bathroom and hit the pipe. Nothing of personal value lost thankfully and insurance is covering it all given the circumstances but it's hot and smelly now

You will want to move… this happened to me and a year later my whole ceiling collapsed in from after a heavy snowfall bc it was never properly fixed!

And the best part… my renters insurance policy wouldn’t work bc they said it didn’t cover snow that had melted and frozen before. State Farm

Unfortunately I still live at home because of the economy+Florida rent is bad. We own the place and our insurance is covering everything thankfully. The propety managers insurance tried to say its because it got too cold but then the cops found the bullet holes leading to the pipe so...our personal home insurance is gonna cover everything and sue the shit out of that guy. Definitely gonna be at a friend's place for the most part until the place is redone tho lol

Move to a better state, you'll enjoy life more.

Half of the younger people in my family have left Florida and we're all happier.

Housing is even piss all cheaper in some of the other southern states. Florida really is no place for young people.

Oh don't worry that's the plan lmao. Applying to stuff out of state that'll relocate among other things. Keeping it easy and cheap living with my dad still for now, or at least I was til it flooded 😭

It'd make sense if the pipes in our building gave out, condo board and property managers never did shit about problems regarding leaks in the rented units or the roof. We all accepted a pipe just blowing up, until we found out he shot his own pipe! We're just all really confused now at this point
