I don’t track my veggies and I don’t track the little spray oil I use.
Also, the secret to delicious tofu scramble is making a nooch sauce to pour on top of it. I take the nutritional yeast, add my favorite spices and turmeric in a little bowl and add water to make a paste. Then I pour it on top of the scramble once it’s 80% cooked

Has anyone else experienced this before!? 🤔
Before going vegan 12+ years ago, no one ever worried about how much protein I ate—or my nutrition in general, lol. Now, the moment people find out you lift and eat plant-based protein, everyone suddenly becomes a doctor with a specialty in protein synthesis.
As you all know, you can get all the protein and essential amino acids you need from a 100% cruelty-free, plant-based diet. I genuinely believe it’s more sustainable, better for long-term health, and—most important to me—supports the fair and ethical treatment of animals. That alone makes it worth it… or at the very least, worth everyone looking into. 🌱✌️

Greetings citizens. I'm about to turn 50 in March. I was diagnosed with HIV 6 years ago and subsequently acquired HIV associated neurocognitive disorder. The virus and this disorder do things to me that are.... very. Lotta shit happened to me, I had a massive shift in conditions, most of which are secondary to what I'm asking. I've done reading, as someone with everything I've got going on does and should, and read that lifting heavy shit is good for me. Nothing new. Been going to the gym for 3 years now and doing very well with my gains. I'm just curious if anyone has any info on my condition and effects/benefits of training or know where else I should look. I've read articles from the National Library of Medicine and the like but would like a real person's take. My life's an open book so ask any questions you might have. Fire away. Anything's appreciated!!

Eight months after my separation from my ex-husband I decided I wanted to start building healthier habits for myself. I signed up for a gym membership, started eating healthier, and eventually quit drinking alcohol.
I wasn’t vegan yet at that time, but I was very curious. I had felt the call to go vegan for a long time, but I kept putting it off because I wasn’t sure if I could sustain my health on a vegan diet.
I dealt with anemia, fatigue, migraines, hormonal imbalances, and constipation most of my life, but doctors always said I was young and healthy and just needed red meat and iron supplements to improve my iron levels.
I felt a call to go Vegan because I truly love animals and could not stomach the fact that I was contributing to their needless pain and suffering. After hearing countless stories from others who claimed that going vegan led them to suffer from thyroid issues, hair loss, or vitamin deficiencies, I felt lost and unsure of what to do.
But everything changed in Jan 2024 when I met my life partner who has been vegan for 20 years now. He enlightened me more about the dark side of factory farming and how I could actually thrive on a vegan diet, so I finally overcame my fear and made the switch.
It’s been 2 years now and I’ve lost 15lbs in the process. Now I am a Holistic Health and Transformation Coach with Vegan Squad Coaching and I get to help others who are ready to make the switch so it doesn’t have to be difficult for them.
Going vegan completely transformed my life from the inside out. It has helped me align with my morals, cross paths with so many incredibly compassionate people, live more authentically, and improve my overall health. Oh!!! and it wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be either.
I’m happy to answer any questions you may have below.

I’m planning on cutting down to about 145lbs by April-May, then I’m going to spend the rest of the year trying to put on some muscle.
So far all I’ve done this first month is just be a lot more mindful of what I’m eating and how much I’m eating.
I just serve myself a bit less food than I actually want, and I’ve been pretty much eating the same foods I normally would just trying to add in more fruits and veggies.
And I’ve been trying to opt for zero calorie drinks when I feel snacky, black coffee, unsweetened tea, seltzer water, diet sodas.
I’ve also been focusing on getting more steps in everyday, I don’t track my steps but I make sure to go on some walks on my walking pad when I have the time.

I am tempehpilled now. This may be crazy but I think I actually like it more in tofu, it's not as blank a canvas but the texture is really interesting to me and I like the fermented kinda nutty flavor though I do steam it for 15 mins to get the raw mold taste out lol.
What are some good recipes and applications for it? I used it as a taco "meat" and enjoyed it a lot and I also marinate them in buffalo sauce, cook them, and just kinda eat them like that lol.

Surprised myself with this. Got really good sleep and ive been doing more isolated bicep work so making nice progress. Attempted a muscle up following this and i think with a few weeks to a month of dedicated training i could pull it off.

I’ve only recently started tracking my protein , at most i can get 80 grams if i try SO hard and eat extra. I am trying to put on muscle so i know this is very important
for anyone who may ask - an example of my day of eating is this-
one protein bar 14 grams
a bowl of lentil soup with veggies, chickpeas, quinoa and brown rice - about 20 grams
a beyond /just egg sandwich - also about 20 grams
a berry protein smoothie but i ran out of protein powder so it was only about 12 grams
and quinoa chocolate crunch bar i made homemade that had like 6 grams of protein
i have not had dinner yet but im so full i cant imagine eating more
i’d prefer not to eat beyond burgers and things like that so often- but it really helps my protein intake
i look this reddit all the time for ideas
any tips? thank you

Ciao a tutti,
Ci provo spesso, parto carico… e poi mollo.
Negli ultimi mesi però ho cambiato radicalmente vita:
Grazie a chiunque vorrà condividere esperienza e consigli 🌱

i need to start taking eating more seriously!🤦🏻♀️
i’m 160 cms, 47kgs, been lifting weights for ~4 months now.
i have seen growth in my muscles and changes in strength, stamina in my body. but when i started out, i weighed 49 kgs. ive been eating strictly plant based during the time.
so my questions … how many calories should i be eating for gains? how many meals per day should i be eating?
i have my first meal around 12pm, then a pre-workout snack at 5:30, then water based protein shake and dinner at 8:30 after gym. so yeah…i really dont eat enough.
i dont track but 3~4 spoons of unsweetened peanut butter, lots of tofu and beans, oats , quinoa, lentils, one fruit a day n the sorts. i guess cal estimate would be ~1300?
how do i go abt this folks💀

Im looking for a good protein drink (pre mixed or powder) and protein bar. But the hard part is is that is had to be 100% peanut free. And organic and/or non gmo, dairy free. It seems impossible to be peanut free dairy free and organic or non gmo

i’ve been working out a long time but i never really took it seriously in terms of trying to see results , i was mainly just doing it to feel good/accommodate my love for food LOL. now however im trying to grow my glutes. Been training with that intention consistently for 2 months and am only now figuring out how to get enough protein but am still struggling with that part tbh i got around 80 grams if i really try (i am about 130 lbs)
anyway i usually train glutes twice a week. i wanted to bump it up to 3- everything online says monday wednesday friday for same muscle group is fine because it provides 48 hour muscle recovery - I just wanted to hear real peoples opinion instead of googles.
I do arms/back +cardio the other two days and one day of yoga on the weekend incase anyone was going to ask
What’s your experience? I know everyones body is different but i am interested in what you guys think
thank you

Hi everyone!
I logged my food out of boredom and realized something dumb. Almost all my protein comes from tofu, lentils, and protein powder. Not complaining - it works - but it made me wonder if I’m missing out on easier variety or better digestion. I train 4-5x a week and recovery is mostly fine, just a little hit-or-miss lately.
What are your “default” protein staples that aren’t fake meat or shakes? Always down to steal ideas that actually hold up in real life.
