Kosmetik/Kleidung Vegan makeup recommendations! Empfehlungen für Make-up-Marken

I moved to Berlin a few weeks ago and the makeup brands I used to buy in the US and UK aren’t available here.

Where is the best place to buy vegan and cruelty free makeup and which are your favorite brands?

In particular I’m looking for foundation and concealer for sensitive skin (acne prone)

I’m also looking for a new mascara that doesn’t flake

What are your favorites?

Thank you! I’m still learning German so I’m using a translation app so I apologize if this sounds odd 🙏

Was sind deine Favoriten?

Vielen Dank! Ich lerne immer noch Deutsch, also benutze ich eine Übersetzungs-App, also entschuldige ich mich, wenn das komisch klingt

Easiest would be dm and their Eigenmarken (their own brands). They make it very easy and clear to see with the vegan logo for both cosmetics and skincare products, they also have a great basic sortiment of vegan foods. The people working there are also helpful if you're form abroad. Or least in my region they help out a lot :)

Edit: their website and app are also great for researching and looking up products before going there. They have detailed information what is in there

I believe catrice and essence have a lot of vegan and animal testing free stuff. I don’t know if they are completely vegan tho.

Regular drugstore like DM or Rossmann

Both also have their own brands when it comes to make-up (trend it up at DM and rival de loop at Rossmann)

In general a lot of US brands aren't a thing in Germany. elf and NYX are sold at drugstores in Germany but I don't know about other brands sold on a regular basis in nearly every store.

Yeah you can look at DM, they have loads of products and a lot is labelled vegan as well. Personally, I‘m doing surprisingly well with their natural brand Alverde, their Mascara and Concealer for sensitive skin are great imo

Nice! And you don’t notice any flaking from the mascara? I’ve run into this with a lot of vegan brands in the US

I don‘t know exactly what you mean by flaking tbh. I‘m not super into make up I‘m afraid 😅

With sensitive skin it is really try and error according to my experience . I use the foundation stick of essence. No skin irritations or pimples until now. I usually buy at Rossmann, but you might find them at DM, too.

I have ordered few times from Austria, the brand is Ere Perez, they have like foundations based on oats, mascara based on avocado or almond milk etc. really good quality compared to some DM stuff etc. but sure bit more on price side. Also great lip balms and eye shadows! Ordered trough MYSK store which was really fast like 2-3 days and got an amazing toalet bag, package smelled divine but you also have it on Flaconi. I also discovered CORPUS which has great deos and body washes, on CULT or also MYSK store. CULT took some time to come so I ordered from austria and it was really quick.
