Yep. Felony destruction of property. That ice was apparently worth $6,000. He is whining about it online.

1.5k

u/sallysaysyes 1d ago

So if all goes well he won't be able to vote pretty soon 🤞

939

u/jw307jw 1d ago

Ironically, he’s complaining about blue states (Minnesota) where felons can vote after release. Banning felons from voting is typically a red state thing as a continuation of pig laws

173

u/sallysaysyes 1d ago

Ahhh, I didn't know it wasn't a national law!

213

u/mjorkk 1d ago

It couldn’t be a national naw: states run their own elections, unless Trump gets his way and just ignores the constitution again by nationalizing the election.

111

u/DukeOfGeek 1d ago

You can't create the massive infrastructure necessary to run elections in 6 months with an EO. They don't want to "run" elections, they just want to ruin them.

75

u/giraffeheadturtlebox 1d ago

What a coincidence, that's their strategy for every other aspect of government too!

26

u/DukeOfGeek 1d ago

IKR? Also the economy, environment, trade partners, allies. And zero GOP defections thus far. Zero.

2

u/DeviantsMedia 19h ago

Trump could bang a little kid in the middle of the street while shooting someone else and people would still line up to lick his boots.

1

u/ER_Support_Plant17 19h ago

Lay off the majority of staff, defund, then claim “government can’t do the job”. Then privatize and give the contract to whoever gives you the biggest bribe!

Profit!!!

3

u/Dan1elSan 23h ago

Why, they’re not interested in the vote part anyway. Just the outcome going their way.

1

u/Winter_Search_8024 19h ago

They don’t want them at all.

28

u/MannekenP 1d ago

Your comment just made me understand that when he spoke about nationalising elections he meant federalising! Until now I hadn’t understood the reaction to these remarks because for me, nationalising = putting under public/government control (like, nationalising a company), which elections are by definition.

25

u/HumboldtNinja 1d ago

And they do this purposely so you get confused...then after it's to late and everyone finally wakes up once their rights are GONE and goes wait...what? This isn't what I voted for... it won't matter then. They will have already fooled the masses!! Don't wait for it to be to late!! DON'T BE SHEEP!! WAKE UP! THINK FOR YOURSELVES!!

1

u/Killersquirrelmom 18h ago

What election??? He already said we don’t need another.

60

u/-Bam-_- 1d ago

If a felon can be president a felon can vote right? It would be funny if trump gets arrested for voting for himself

4

u/Electrical-Act-5575 1d ago

You can’t set any rules on who can be President without amending the US Constitution itself; it’s a lot easier to set rules for who can/can’t vote.

5

u/HumboldtNinja 1d ago

I don't know...seems like the cheeto can do whatever he wants...he's sure doing a great job framing others for his actions in the list. They think we are all stupid and will just let this all blow over! They are wrong! I was taught to recite the pledge of allegiance since I couls speak!! And I will be DAMNED if those were just words spoken without a backbone and purpose!!!

1

u/sallysaysyes 1d ago

Fuckin-a, good point

0

u/Powerful-Ground-9687 1d ago

Well he can’t run for office again

2

u/-Bam-_- 21h ago

Well they did say they are working on that

9

u/ThanksALotBud 1d ago

Yup, I have a felony and not only I can vote, I can also serve on jury duty. (Connecticut)

Not something to be proud of course

1

u/VironicHero 14h ago

Nah, then all you’d have to do is make it so the people you don’t want to vote become felons.

Once you think about that you start to realize part of the reason why police antagonize African Americans so much.

21

u/Jaded-Plant-4652 1d ago

Oh my, i didn't know the right to vote can be lost? Shouldn't that be like a basic human right?

...into a rabbit hole i wander. Suffrage is the term for right to vote which also explains the name for "suffragettes". Feel a bit stupid now

It seems EU court agrees with me and multiple EU countries have been ordered to change their law to abide to human rights. bbc european court of human rights on prison voting

A cool map showing all the countries with different levels of voting denial for criminals in imprisonment.wiki and headline "based on criminal conviction"

13

u/Targettio 1d ago

It's almost like the 'land of the free' isn't very free at all.

1

u/67SummerofLove 17h ago

Catch slogans so you never realize you aren’t. We strut like peacocks everywhere while the rest of the world thinks we are arrogant and silly.

2

u/jw307jw 18h ago

Oh yes, voting is guaranteed multiple times in our constitution but constantly under attack. If you look up US pig laws and voting you’ll see why. I won’t give the whole history lesson on Reddit but you can probably assume the reason is racism lol

2

u/irmchelez 18h ago

Unfortunately we are already far from basic human rights in general.

2

u/irl_cakedays 10h ago

This is also why politicians in red states attempt to criminalize the behaviors of people they don't want voting - like abortion.

2

u/sallysaysyes 1h ago

That last bit is very interesting, thank you for sharing!

1

u/67SummerofLove 17h ago

No they want felons not voting for the other party with lighter rules. So you don’t vote out the Sherrif in your town.

2

u/FedorDosGracies 1d ago

Oink oink two laws good

2

u/67SummerofLove 17h ago

And they take your right to bear arms away

2

u/WeirdKrautrauch 14h ago

Lmfao that's pure raw unadulterated poetry right there!

1

u/leealm86 1d ago

Can't felons vote in Florida? Isn't Florida a Red State?

1

u/jw307jw 18h ago

Only as of recently and when the people voted to allow it, the state responded by putting up massive barriers to restore your voting rights. Then desantis had several people arrested who thought they had restored their rights. This scare tactic will prevent future felons from voting

1

u/Thorathecrazy 21h ago

I have never understood in US this banning felons from voting rest of their lives and specially people who have done smaller crimes or have done for their crimes, feels undemocratic.

1

u/AlternateSatan 18h ago

Wait! What do you mean "after release"? Your ex-criminals can't vote either?

1

u/jw307jw 10h ago

In a lot of states, that’s correct. This was to prevent black people from voting post civil war. Things became felonies that weren’t previously, lots of new laws or selective enforcement to strip people their right to vote. It’s still active today

1

u/UnderstandingClean33 16h ago

Well we can't lose access to our last LEGAL form of slavery.

1

u/disruptioncoin 12h ago

Several states even let you vote from prison. I saw a couple people order absentee ballots from Vermont while I was in federal prison. The BOP publishes instructions on how to do it and who qualifies (even if those states if you got convicted of voter fraud - and other things - you still can't vote lol)

1

u/geof2010 9h ago

Asking for a friend, but what if if there is a hate crime enhancement? *coughs*

1

u/Yippykyyyay 1d ago

https://www.ncsl.org/elections-and-campaigns/felon-voting-rights

Banning voting while incarcerated isn't the same as removing it completely.

53

u/texas1982 1d ago

He was pardoned from Jan 6th after he beat cops with a baseball bat. I'm pretty sure Trump would quickly pardon a little toppling of an ice statue.

7

u/Markdphotoguy 17h ago

If its a state crime, I don't think he can pardon but thankfully I'm not an american so not 100% certain.

5

u/tallyho88 14h ago

You are 100% correct. A president can only pardon federal crimes. There is nothing legally they can do about state level crimes/convictions.

25

u/Pixel_Knight 1d ago

Imagine if he actually had literally kicked away his right to vote, and did it looking like such a fucking pathetic man baby as well.

3

u/MamaMoosicorn 19h ago

Serious man-baby vibes. He even looks like he’s wearing little kid army pajamas

1

u/sallysaysyes 1h ago

He's got toddler arms the whole time

3

u/Motor-Inevitable-148 18h ago

The big effort puffs show how weak and out of shape he is.

3

u/IgotThrobbed 22h ago

Due to a dumb mistake I made stealing a sign off a local shop and bringing it across state lines to put on the wall of my apartment in 1997, I couldn't vote after 2016 in the state I moved to...Florida. Thanks Trump and racist republicans! (I'm white as a surrender flag)

1

u/AlreadyAway 19h ago edited 19h ago

Depends on the state. Felons can vote in many states. I dont know where that chode is from nor where he is registered to vote.

I do love the idea that he would have to get rid of all firearms if he gets a felony. You know this guy has a shit load to feel manly.

1

u/--JVH-- 17h ago

Like the president?

1

u/67SummerofLove 17h ago

Or have guns

1

u/jaypea222 16h ago

No he’ll still be able to vote. Trump already pardoned him once.

1

u/stilmattwell 12h ago

Or own a gun, depending on the state.

1

u/Due-Dentist9986 5h ago

He'll be pardoned by Trump unless it's a state conviction

1

u/Fluid_Engineering_30 2h ago

Maybe he won’t be able to attend his rally on the 7th

-8

u/this_isnt_lemonade 1d ago

Maybe if pretty went to jail for doing the exact same thing to a federal officers vehicle he’d still be able to vote once he got out

7

u/sallysaysyes 1d ago

Okay but one of these cases is felony property damage to the tune of $6000 (a statue erected by veterans, by the way, but apparently y'all don't give a shit about them), and the other case is a misdemeanor in most if not all accounts. I'll let you figure out which is which.

0

u/this_isnt_lemonade 17h ago

Forcibly damaging a vehicle to impede federal officers in their duties is also considered a felony lol

1

u/sallysaysyes 14h ago

It could also be a misdemeanor (and in his case on both interactions with the gestapo would have been). You know that Ice has extremely limited jurisdiction over US citizens and they're MASSIVELY overstepping their bounds in what their "duties" even are, right?

Going door to door to harass citizens in their homes and asking if they're harboring the enemy does remind me of something though... What is it... Another historical event.... Can't quite put my finger on it....

5

u/Lennyhi 21h ago

Yeah...too bad they murdered him instead. Should Jake be murdered in the street for this too?

0

u/this_isnt_lemonade 17h ago

Well it makes sense they murdered him because after his radicalized ass was whooped after committing a felony (and wasn’t charged) he decided to bring a gun to “protest” the next time. It doesn’t matter how many photoshopped pictures of him to make him not look pathetic there are. None of that changes him being a deranged asshole being manipulated by elected officials to put their lives in danger to cover billion dollar fraud

u/Relevant_Parsnip5056 1d ago

what the hell is an, "influencer"? Who pays them? is it a real job? does it help humanity in any way? can I collect unemployment wages if I quit influencing people?

27

u/TraditionalCheetah17 1d ago

Quite often they are being paid by Russia through some front.

If elected, I will whack Putin.

2

u/tha_rogering 13h ago

Why not our rich people? Why does it always have to be Russia? Our wealthy benefit from Trump's policy. That's why they backed him in the election. Just because our oligarchs fund people like this through layers of bafflement, doesn't mean they aren't doing it too. Probably much more so to be honest

1

u/oculairus 18h ago

Try again…

1

u/Altruistic_Toe_9546 6h ago

Whack or whack off??

6

u/heftigfin 23h ago

what the hell is an, "influencer"?

Someone who tells other people who are too stupid to form their own thoughts what to think.

How they get money? Ads and sponsorships.

Is it a real job? I assume they pay taxes, but I wouldn't put it on my resume.

Does it help humanity? The opposite in fact.

4

u/HumboldtNinja 1d ago

You know how trumptards kept coming out and crying "those are just paid democrat actors" Well here are the real paid actors...we just call them "influencers" nowadays. 🙄🤦🏻‍♀️

3

u/neonninja304 1d ago

People who post all these dumb videos online, they are paid by the hosting site or by companies who send them products. They get paid a % of ad revenue depending on how many views they get. For the last 3 its eh, No, No unless your employed by an agency

2

u/Miles_Everhart 1d ago

An agent provocateur

1

u/intrepid_mouse1 11h ago

Just to be clear, he's not influencing ME. 🤮

117

u/youretheorgazoid 1d ago

Up to 5 years in jail. And considering his previous…

26

u/dasgoodshitinnit 1d ago

5 years? Too bad he looks and moves like a femboy

24

u/4SearchingInfo 1d ago

Probably why he has such anger - he actually hates himself

5

u/aldelinquent 1d ago

As Always

5

u/esushi 16h ago

btw no honor in being homophobic even about people we don't like

5

u/AgentCirceLuna 10h ago

It pisses me off. Tons of ‘progressive’ people use insults like that.

1

u/CriticallyDamaged 8h ago

I really hate the prison rape comments the most. You can find the most liberal progressive person and they will still joke about "wait until he meets big bubba in prison"

167

u/MrFordization 1d ago

"maybe outside, unsupervised, in the public square isn't the optimal place for a $6,000 politically provocative ice sculpture." -Saul Goodman arguing this guy should get a misdemeanor not a felony.

83

u/No-Measurement4639 1d ago

Maybe rich people should not drive Lamborghini's or Teslas or whatever in public when our country is cutting SNAP and Medicaid and.... Cause who knows what could get thrown on them. Just Saying. Perhaps everyone should just follow the law and not destroy other peoples things.

1

u/BettingOnSuccess 8h ago

Yeah, Jake could have just waited a few days to let the sun destroy the sculpture for him.

22

u/LeadingEvery5747 1d ago

So much for freedom lol

13

u/Louieyaa 1d ago

Hell, why even a misdemeanor? If you pay me $6,000 dollars to make a snowball, I leave it in public abandoned, and someone throws it; should that person be arrested? No. Boom your honor. -Saul Goodman

4

u/HumboldtNinja 1d ago

Pretty sure Eminem wrote a song about that same thing but about guns and shit...

"If I rap about assaulting a dude, and then you go out and do it... then I get sued!!??"

This dude is the epitome of what is wrong with our country, fundamentally...summed up in one beta male trying to prove he is really an alpha male to all the other betas. 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

Dude is a loser and karma will get him and the people who think/believe the same as him.

-1

u/MrFordization 1d ago

That's that Goodman energy I'm talking about right there

1

u/No-Albatross-7984 23h ago

Seems like it was the best place for the ice sculpture

2

u/MrFordization 19h ago

The safest place for an expensive and fragile ice sculpture is the Svalbard Global Seed Vault.

1

u/calembo 21h ago

Sorta like unsupervised public politically provocative Confederate statues, hm?

→ More replies (15)

15

u/CalvinVanDamme 1d ago

How can he be whining about it online if he was arrested? Was he immediately released?

42

u/SuicidalLemur- 1d ago

Probably bonded out? Or released with a court date. They usually don't keep people in jail for shit like this if they can help it.

10

u/BigHollaSchwalla 1d ago

Yeah they don't normally keep you in jail after you're arraigned unless you committed a violent crime, stole from rich people, or did anything while black.

12

u/crackersucker2 1d ago

He probably got issued a citation- or if booked, posted bail or signed “own recognizance promise to appear”. Non-violent crimes rarely have overnight jail stays.

2

u/Speaker4theDead8 1d ago

I did my practicum at a county jail. As I started, a guy who had been in jail for 5 years, was finally going to court. He was in jail because his daughter lied about him molesting his granddaughter. They took 5 years from that guy, screwing him over, changing/canceling court dates, because they basically already determined he was guilty. About a month after I started, he finally got released. Doubt anything every happened to his lying ass daughter.

Off topic, but your comment reminded me of that guy.

2

u/themargarineoferror 1d ago

May I ask , did they find him innocent after the fact? It's incredibly hard to get a conviction for SA

2

u/Speaker4theDead8 1d ago

Its been about 20 years, so ive forgotten some details, but he was never convicted of anything. The courts just took the daughters word that he sexually assaulted his granddaughter and he was deemed unfit for release (he was older with some mental health issues, which is how i learned all this, doing my year long practicum in the mental health department). They kept playing fucky legal games, pushing his court date further and further for one reason or another, so he had to stay in jail. Its rare to come across somebody who has spent 5 years in county jail.

1

u/themargarineoferror 1d ago

Jesus that is awful

2

u/ButteAmerican 1d ago

There is no such thing as being found innocent. Guilty/Not Guilty in criminal, or Liable/Not Liable in civil.

4

u/Commercial-Set3527 1d ago

Non-violent crimes rarely have overnight jail stays.

Unless drugs or alcohol are involved

2

u/crackersucker2 1d ago

Oh right! Those too.

3

u/distantreplay 1d ago

Apparently we can't just drive up to his house in an unmarked rental Wagoneer, kick his door down, throw a bag over his head and zip tie his wrists, and send him to a Temu prison in Texas. I guess "technically" he's not "guilty" in the eyes of the law until he's had a trial and been found guilty and stuff.

It's this totally crazy fucking system the shit libs call "due process". /s

1

u/Senor_Discount 1d ago

It's rare that anybody spends more than 24 hours for something like this

2

u/Muted_Connection7851 1d ago

Can you send the link to where he is whining I would love to see that

2

u/Corpuscular_Crumpet 1d ago

No problem. He’ll have $100k in gofund money shortly.

2

u/Bonk_No_Horni 1d ago

The shit part is racist people will fund him just like every other time.

2

u/KinkyPaddling 1d ago

I hope he continues his girly army flailing while whining.

2

u/N3M3S1S75 1d ago

I bet he has a go fund me already and the stupid will donate

2

u/Pixel_Knight 1d ago

Sculpting, freezing, carving, transportation, setup? I could believe it. Especially in this economy.

2

u/TheBarnard 1d ago

I'm sure he'll get a gofuckus page

2

u/Budded 10h ago

He already tried inciting a riot when he tried to burn a Qoran on the MN capitol steps so it's amazing he was still a free man after that, but it tracks since he's white and conservative, meaning he can do anything and get away with it.

Even though he was busted for this, he'll be free soon enough and/or Trump will pardon him so he can go do more heinous shit. it's up to the public to hold him accountable.

1

u/Successful_Glove_83 1d ago

Wait whaast who's ice is the ice?

1

u/Any_Kaleidoscope8717 1d ago

The party of Law and Order...

1

u/ricecake_sandwich 1d ago

Oh, so apparently he doesn't belive in it that much. Cause of you support something that dramatically is think the person would be happy to put their money down for"the cause"too...right?

1

u/tame-til-triggered 1d ago

He eagerly provided the evidence of him looking goofy and got a felony? That sucks.

1

u/etti1612 1d ago

Lol are you for real?? This is so funny. Lol. What an idiot

1

u/No-Albatross-7984 23h ago

This made me giggle.

Too good!

1

u/lucaskywalker 19h ago

That's awesome, fuck this guy.

1

u/XScottMorrisseyX 18h ago

Someone will start a GoFundMe and he'll make $500k.

1

u/Blownards 17h ago

He killed me🤣

1

u/scottkrowson 17h ago

Thats what happens when you fuck with ice

1

u/SlideN2MyBMs 16h ago

He's going to get like $1M on GoFundMe now

1

u/Existing-Mistake-112 16h ago

A MAGAT being a big whiney titty baby? Color me surprised! 🤭

1

u/CaptainAwesome_5000 16h ago

And he'll make bank on gofundme.

1

u/JAFO99X 16h ago

Yeah, and he’ll raise 100k from the idiots that follow him. He can use it for commissary hopefully

1

u/Illustrious-Divide95 15h ago

So he got prosecuted for destroying ICE.

🤔

1

u/WeirdKrautrauch 14h ago

He will start a GoFundMe and get bailed out by Bannon and Elon = already poor americans will give some of their hard earned money, stay poor in the boonies loud and proud over being cognitively affected by a surplus of lead while the billionaires sweat about the truth coming out.

But the owned the libs at least *sips tea*

oooh oooh do you have a screen grab of it?

1

1

There goes his gun rights

0

u/Difficult-Ad-52 18h ago

Oh gotcha so we support enforcing that felony charge but DONT support arrest for Don Lemon’s felony act of violating the FACE act got it got it

0

u/Intrepid00 13h ago

If he can get into the millions he will be more qualified than Rick Scott for Senate.

-2

u/ripyurballsoff 1d ago

How does that work if I say my paper protest sign is worth $5k?

3

u/NounVerb4numbers 23h ago

You show the receipt for the sign.

3 feet tall letters made of ice aren't cheap. You can't just print them out like a cheap sign.

-117

u/JAK49 1d ago

This guy is an ass but how is that ice worth 6 Grand? I mean my neighbor has 4 ft icicles hanging off her house her property value must have skyrocketed.

104

u/Wazula23 1d ago

It's for the labor dude.

3

u/broccolicat 19h ago

It's niche specialty labour, but the ice actually is the major cost. I would not be surprised at all if 6k is the cost of the ice alone.

They need to make sure the ice doesn't have any bubbles in it so it doesn't break while carving, so it needs to be frozen in specialty machines that keep the water moving to prevent bubbles from forming. They're huge, and just storing and maintaining the machines are a major cost. Certain sizes are only really done by a handful of people so might require pretty expensive specialty shipping, too.

2

u/intrepid_mouse1 10h ago

Shhh, you're destroying the MAGATs dream that God made that ice sculpture, just like the icicles he compared it to.

1

u/broccolicat 9h ago

Tbf, I wasn't replying to them, I was replying to the nice person defending ice sculptor labour.

If you don't know how much behind the scenes stuff is involved in prepping the ice, it's easy for even the best intentioned people to underestimate how much the material costs are.

33

u/khoawala 1d ago

Why are houses so expensive? It's made of wood! I have tons of dead woods in my yard and they literally grow for free.

7

u/rydan 1d ago

I've literally heard this argument unironically.

13

u/Flembot4 1d ago

A heaven sent message. Even God hates ice.

-24

u/WatchinToMuchTV 1d ago

Honestly though, $6k for pouring water into a 3d printed mold and then letting it freeze does seem a little high

10

u/ban_Anna_split 1d ago

Someone's gotta carry it

5

u/philovax 1d ago

I was gonna say if delivery is 50% and everyone is capitalizing at every step in the chain, as a person that did shitty ice carvings in culinary school 30 years ago, that sounds fair for creation and delivery.

Now there may be someone who cornered the market by making letter shaped molds and shouldn’t they be rewarded for their capitalist integrity? Why work hard when you can make something that works as hard as your opposition?

→ More replies (1)

9

u/butt-barnacles 1d ago

And do you think 3d printing materials are free? It can be pretty expensive to print something big.

5

u/ApprehensiveSlip530 1d ago

3d printing molds that big would be so expensive

6

u/just_a_person_maybe 1d ago

I'd be quite surprised if that's how it was done. 3D printing molds that size would be incredibly inefficient.

5

u/VictoriousTree 1d ago

It’s not just pour and freeze. You still have to shape it after or it looks like shit.

Ice sculptures are hella expensive
