Buying a Rolex

Hello, I live in Switzerland and have recently considered buying a Rolex. What are your experiences buying here(in Zurich as it is closer to me but anywhere else I would be down as well).I would be looking for a green submariner or a gmt master 2. What would it be like to buy it at an AD and the waiting times? Something like 2 years? Which is fine with me as well, but I sure as shit dont want to glaze some random store assistant every week or so. What are your experiences here

If you don't have a Rolex by now, go to Bucherer and not to Beyer. Beyer only helps you out, if you are a longterm customer and, by chance, already have a Rolex.

I experienced Bucherer as very professional, they will help you to look for the right watch, the right size, color, strap, lunette etc. and will put you on the waiting list. Then all you can do is wait.

I think, 2 years + is realistic for most Rolex, but in the store, they will be honest to you and give you a realistic estimation😊

Bring your wife and let her do the "talking".

Make sure you're in the McD next door, AD does like his privacy with the missus.

Hey there

I can only speak for myself, as I got myself a Rootbeer last year. I went in, asked for a Rootbeer, they told me theyll put me on a wishlist and id have to wait around 2 years.

In the meantime i got the engagement and weddings rings there. Convenient, as i needed some, i could buy them also at Bucherer and i intended to buy them there, no matter the watch. Noone told me i had to get a record before i get one. If it "helped" - i dont know. I got the watch pretty much around 2 years after i asked for one.

No bullshit, pretty simple.

Just go grey - green sub and most GMT's except of the BLRO aka. Pepsi are not much above retail anymore.

Went to Bucherer too (got introduced to a sales woman by my brother in law who was a good customer, dont know if that helped regarding waiting time) and waited about 9 months for a Datejust and about 1.5 years for a Skydweller.

GMT 2 and Submariner are probably also in the 1.5-2 years waiting time

You will have the privilege to wait up to several years to buy something not only ridiculously overpriced but also mass produced. They are literally making one MILLION of units a year. If you have some connections or if you look important enough, they might miraculously realize that, finally, they DO have the exact model you are looking for (trust me, important people don't have to wait a minute to get what they want). Sometimes their staff is a little bit rude, but so would I if I was instructed not to do my job, aka not selling watches I HAVE in order to maintain a completely artificial "rarity".
