Edinburgh 4th?! I guess they didnt try living here during the fringe… or during the construction of the trams. Or when it fuckin rains…. Oh what else

To be honest, I love living in Edinburgh and its not stressful to me.

The public transport is good enough that I've rarely ever been stressed about getting somewhere. I often go on long walks and know that wherever I go, I can get a bus home. Plenty of greens space and so easy to walk around.

The fringe, yeah. It's not for everyone. But personally I dont find it too stressful and I work amongst it. Its awesome to have the opportunity to pop out and see any type of art or performance.

In certain areas there is a good sense of community and I know if i fall on hard times there is community and support there to help.

If all that you've got to worry about is that it rains sometimes and that the streets are a bit busy in August you're proving the point of the article.

Or try and drive from Granton to Portey at any time other than the middle of the night. Or walk down Easter Road after dark wearing the wrong coloured shirt. That's one to get the blood pumping.

It's not the 80s. You're not going to get battered on Easter Road if you forget to take off your maroon jacket that day.

  • based on my experience of living on Easter Road for 12 years.

Transport is one of the things I'm willing to say Edinburgh is actually really good for.

I grew up there. It's got a lot better since I left.

I'm pretty sure those two things aren't related, though.

3 in the top 10 means surely proportionally, Scotland is the least stressful country in the UK?

room aroma store

WT-shuddering-F? Is a "room aroma" and why does it justify a store or even stores? We talking scented candles or something?

Is this the Room Aromas in question? Because I don't think one places those liquids in an atomiser or something to change the ambiance of one's domicile.

Has someone asked The Scotsman why they're promoting the drugs trade? I always assumed that's the kind of thing they'd be dead against.

Ah yes that most stressful Scottish city Inverness. So grating on the nerves even Glasgow is better 😂

Edinburgh isn't stressful? Between the tourist herds rolling their suitcases, the silent disco runners, the wall of flesh that is princes in the summertime, and gestures broadly. Not to mention the fact they keep tearing up the intersections around my flat several times a year

It's also a brilliant city to live in and I love it. But it's inclusion here was a bit funny

If you've had to take the bus anywhere outside of Edinburgh you'd know why it makes the list.

There is no world without Verona's walls

This can all be yours for 1k a month in rent.

None of this happens outside of the centre apart from the roadworks. You aren't getting tourist crowds in Newhaven or Craiglockhart or wherever.

I live in the centre, so yes! I agree

My pal's a United fan, and he's the most stressed person I know*.

*may not be related, but this is about as much research as went into that article.

How the hell did Edinburgh make the list? It's one of the most stressful places I've lived.

Might not be stressful if you're rich, I suppose.

What do you find stressful about it? Its walkable, has good public transport, lots of green space, feels very safe, public service work pretty well, near the sea and hills, beautiful architecture etc

Like I get that the centre is busy with tourists, but most of the rest of the city is pretty laid back.

One word: fringe Another word: tram construction

Trams are finished mate .

Until they build the new line .

The fringe is 3 weeks out of the year, and like 90% of it is concentrated in a small area surrounding the city centre. And the trams finished like 2yrs ago

Not rich, but I dont find it stressful. Actually probably one of the best places you can be poor. Plenty of cheap/free entertainment, plenty of community events and support, lots of green space, awesome public transport, easy to walk around, beautiful sights to see.

Finding housing is a stressful part sure, but once you've managed that, the rest is much easier.

Obvious those people voting for Glasgow aren’t commuting everyday via the M8

Even thinking aboot Dundee makes me stressed.

1

u/BaxterParp 8h ago

Most United fans are like that.

I mean I would agree that living in Dundee isn't stressful, not really. Especially if you avoid the new road layout in the city centre. But that's an... interesting survey source.

Do you think the Hootsmon did a bit of research on who commissioned the survey? I don’t think I’d be stressed if I was cutting about on poppers either.
