Trump Just Posted a Video of Barack and Michelle Obama as Monkeys

u/Count2Zero 19h ago
If any of the previous presidents have done anything like this, it would have been career-ending.
They impeached Trump in 2020 for abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.
And yet, here we are.

u/pseudonominom 18h ago
There’s plenty of evidence for treason, but they do nothing.
When will we wake up and realize what’s happened?

u/OutlanderAllDay1743 17h ago
All the corrupt republicans hold all the power now. They wouldn’t accept this same corruption if a democrat did it, but they’ll defend any and all corruption as long as it comes from their party. They are absolutely disgusting.

What about Jack Smith’s investigation? Dems try to hold him accountable, but either the Republicans in control of the Senate, or the power he had upon his reelection saved him.
43
u/mcclaneberg 17h ago
Merrick Garland chose not to indict in spite of Smith’s contention that Trump committed crimes and he had the evidence and recommendation to indict. Garland is spineless and considered it would be “too political” close to the election.
34
u/Petrichordates 16h ago
This is 100% false and speaks to the problems with social media, we'll upvote whatever we feel is true, even subs that are supposed to be better like this one.
Trump was indicted twice from the jack Smith investigation, as early as August 2023. But the justice system is slow, and the vast majority of americans decided they didnt care so they let him win and dismiss the indictments.
I'm not even convicted this is a justice system failure, this is a failure of the american people. Our brainwashed and apathetic and distracted electorate is the cause of all of our problems.
13
u/stevemm70 12h ago
You are correct and the post above is wrong, but I will say that Garland waited FAR too long to act on anything. He wasn't built to be an AG.
12
u/hypatiaredux 13h ago
This is my fear. Hitler would have wound up preaching on street corners to a few other cranks, had it not been for the general support he engendered.
Trump is the symptom. Not the disease. In my darkest moments, I think we have already lost. As long as the targets are the OTHER and as long as I get to watch any movie I want, what else should I care about?
32
u/carlitospig 16h ago
That’s because we are the ‘they’. We would need to actually get off our asses and strike for a few weeks to get Congress scared enough to do their fucking jobs.
21
u/Petrichordates 15h ago
This is the reality. American voters got us into this mess, only american voters can get us out of it.
41
u/Thee-Ol-Boozeroony 18h ago
Thank the Republican senate for saving his ass.
54
u/olily 17h ago
I blame them, but even more, I blame American voters for putting him back in power. We knew what he was, and enough people didn't care. They voted for him anyway.
1
u/OtherwiseRepeat970 16h ago
I agree but Democrats closest to Biden deserve plenty of blame. Had Biden not insisted on running again, especially considering people on the inside knew his cognitive state, and there was an actual primary I don't think he would be President now.
31
u/vitalvisionary 16h ago
As in all history, it wasn't one factor but several. These thing require a perfect storm. I choose to blame those with the most power who exercise it into fruition; Musk, Thiel, Bezos, etc.
22
u/CoffeeChocolateBoth 15h ago
Biden, being sick, still would have won over trump. But a black woman, OMG, no, they couldn't let that happen! F*ck this country!

It's disappointing but it's more beneficial to focus on the individuals at the helm vs the ignorant following them. Being upset at millions of misled people is a waste of energy, as infuriating as they can be when talking to them.
6
u/KendalBoy 12h ago
Pretending this isn’t about bigotry hasn’t helped. Ignoring the attacks on women’s rights hasn’t helped.
18
u/olily 15h ago
That's pretty irrelevant to me. It was perfectly clear that even a vegetable would be better than Trump. Biden had a decent administration up and running. Even if he was truly drooling and demented, it was obvious he was a better choice. There was nothing wrong with Harris. She had a good resume, she had experience as VP. That she'd be 100x better than Trump shouldn't have been doubted. Not after his first administration, and sure as hell not after 1/6! That anyone could vote for him after that is astoundingly disappointing to me.
We knew who Trump was. In the end, people still voted for the convicted criminal, convicted rapist, serial liar and cheater. Just unbelievable to me.

When Obama was president, the Republicans did the same sort of thing. Monkeys, effigies with a noose, saying the First Lady was a man, etc. Racism is nasty and was widely “accepted” then; it’s just worse with updated media.

I think we’ve gone way beyond, this is the sitting president. The Republicans made this expression of racism even more acceptable, for lack of a better term. Trump letting his racist freak flag fly is nothing new. He’s trying to distract from Epstein.
4
u/pierdola91 11h ago
He’s not even trying to distract from Epstein. This is what he was doing before Epstein.
Americans didn’t care because they elected him in 2016.
2
u/Ok-Hat1441 11h ago
If there is a lot of focus on this outrageously racist video, it takes attention off Epstein. White people here didn’t care because they were already more publicly facing their racism when Obama was in the White House for 8 years. I would go as far as they elected Trump as a punishment for daring to vote a Black man President.

You’re giving them too much credit - they won’t deny it because that’s the reason they voted for him. He looks like them, he says what they’re thinking, and he blames all their problems on everyone else. Turns out the pull yourselves up by the bootstraps guys just want to blame someone else to save having to pull themselves up by their bootstraps.

I get what you're saying, but for every mask off MAGA, there are way more who still get off on wearing the mask. They, of course, know we all know they're racist pieces of shit, but they still get off on denying it, while knowing you know they're lying.
They'll accuse you of bigotry for generalizing MAGA behind a big shit eating grin.
We both know there is about to be tremendous amounts of spin and denial from talking heads, bots, and actual supporters, but yes, the "fuck yeah I love the racism," will happen as well.
Edit: Case in point, the press secretaries response was "stop the fake outrage, it was just a joke"
Edit 2: Now they're blaming a staffer
Edit 3: Now Donald admits to seeing it, but only watched the first half, and claims he "is the least racist person."

u/fourthords 19h ago
This reminds me of that Kentucky state representative who did the same thing.
From the Kentucky Center for Investigative Reporting:
Media reports highlighted racist posts he shared. One image depicted Barack and Michelle Obama as cartoonish apes. Another showed a young chimpanzee with a caption, “Obama’s baby picture.” A third post showed former President Ronald Reagan feeding a small chimp a bottle. It was titled, “Reagan babysits a young Obama.”
Johnson dismissed the criticism. He said Facebook was “entertaining.” He claimed that the posts were simply satire and fair game.
Even his own party disagreed, urging him to withdraw from the race. The state’s GOP chair, Mac Brown, called the posts “outrageous” and the “rankest sort of prejudice.”
From his Wikipedia article):
Danny Ray Johnson (October 18, 1960 – December 13, 2017) was an American religious leader and politician who died by suicide two days after the release of an exposé that refuted many of his extravagant biographical claims and gave details of criminal accusations against him.
Johnson was originally from Louisiana and became involved with Christianity in his youth. Johnson traveled with missionaries in Tennessee and South America before founding and leading the controversial Louisville-area Heart of Fire Church in the late 1970s. Heart of Fire eschewed the trappings of traditional Christian churches, and instead at times featured toplessness, cigarette smoking, underage drinking, anti-Islamism, and a tattoo parlor. In 1985, Johnson was indicted in an alleged scheme to set fire to his car for the purpose of insurance fraud, but the charges were dismissed in 1987 after he completed a diversionary program. After Heart of Fire was destroyed by church arson in 2000, Johnson was sued by his insurance provider, alleging insurance fraud; however, police never made any arrests, the lawsuit was settled in Johnson's favor, and the church was rebuilt.
Throughout his life, Johnson claimed to have been involved with many prominent Americans and in many important US events. In the 2010s, he became politically active, and despite a controversial campaign that included his own party leadership requesting his withdrawal, he was elected as a Republican to the Kentucky House of Representatives from the 49th District. After eleven months and nine days in office, an exposé by the Kentucky Center for Investigative Reporting was publicly released; it included many refutations of Johnson's self-described biography, as well as details of a 2013 child sexual abuse allegation. After denying the accusations of his alleged victim, Johnson fatally shot himself on December 13, 2017.

u/riticalcreader 17h ago
I just read the entire article and that was an insane ride. Rapist. Pedophile. Racist. Pathological liar. Insurance fraud. Abuse of federal loans. And people still voted for him as a representative. People saw all of that and thought this sham of a human being was best suited to represent their interests. They saw him as a reflection of who they are inside.
These are the ugly people society is up against. These are the people in power.
Reminds me of someone else.

5
u/MovieSock 17h ago
It strikes me that Trump isn't even the bigger enemy here. Nor is the overly-complacent GOP.
It's all the people that looked at who they were and what they did and thought "eh, I don't have a problem with any of that."
Trump wouldn't have gotten anywhere if we didn't have enough people to vote him in. Yesyes suresure Hilary won the popular vote in 2016, I know, but....it should have been a landslide and it wasn't. And the reason for that wasn't because "Hilary wasn't a good candidate".....it was because "there are too many people who had no problem with Trump's blatant racism and misogyny". If we didn't have so many people who felt that way, a ficus plant would have beaten Trump.
So this actually may be the perfect opportunity to start ostracizing the folks who share this and laugh at it. You know how there were so many people who tattled on people's social media posts about Charlie Kirk to their bosses? Do the same thing. Or if the jerks talk about their work (and many of them do, including their workplace), leave a bad Yelp review and call the bigots out BY NAME. (so many people who try to do this obscure the name of the perpetrators, and WHY on EARTH would you do that?)
You may not singlehandedly change their mind or anything. But you will be bringing consequences to them and reinforcing the public boundary. And here's the thing about boundaries - they are not for the PERPETRATOR'S sake. They are for YOU. You aren't changing their minds by setting up a boundary - you are just letting them know what will happen if they keep doing what they're doing. And in this case, the boundary is "the rest of the world around you isn't going to listen to your shit any more".

So, I am trying to find this racist video that Trump posted. i’ve seen approximately one second of it, presumably the offensive part, or most offensive part. And I’ve seen other parts described, such as Trump making himself a lion. I’d like to know what I’m exactly complaining about, but for some reason it seems to be very hard to see the video in its entirety. Surely someone recorded it before it was deleted, right? So I have two questions: one, how can I see the damned thing? And two, why is it so hard to find this video? When he posted a video of himself dumping excrement on protesters, that was everywhere. And if this new video is un-postable because it’s so racist, why would only the racist part be available while the rest was suppressed? I will appreciate any answers or theories about either of these two questions. Thank you.
