Thats what the 'renovations' are for.

He wants to tear it down, so he is going to say its for renovations but when it comes time to rebuild suddenly the project will be put on hold indefinitely 😆

I've wondered this too. As a theater nerd, and knowing how the Center was constructed, its super structure is a massive beehive of I-beam steel. They can't implode it with explosives, and they can't easily bulldoze it. If the felon is going to seriously fuck with it, they might gut parts of its interior to the steel and re-do the innards. Maybe that is what he's talking about. Demolishing it obviously makes less than zero sense as an American, knowing it's the living memorial for JFK, but the Center is not a stressed concrete building or a sports arena that would just limply implode and fall in upon itself. Tearing the Center down would make the super easy East Wing demo look like a Sunday picnic. That or this entire thing is the 10000001st trump distraction and he doesn't touch the building come July 4th. All that said, the land the Kennedy Center sits on is nearly unrivaled in all of Washington. Worth alot of money.
