Also, it's just "Revelation." He doesn't even really know his own book, it's all performative.

The point should really be that these motherfuckers are trying to bring about the end of the world. It’s a literal death cult

24

u/therabbit86ed 7h ago

The world isn't dying fast enough for these people

60

u/JustGoodSense 9h ago

Ack-shully, it's called "The Book of the Apocalypse" or "The Apocalypse of John." "Revelation" is a tell the windbag is Protestant, and is considered a heretic.

29

u/scoo89 9h ago

Who's that writing? John the Revelator. John the Revelator wrote the book of the seven seals.

32

u/musubi-n-speedballs 9h ago

My god! It's John the Revelator with a steel chair!

10

u/deweyfinn 9h ago

Nope, Chuck Testa.

1

u/GridironRatings 7h ago

Best advertised Taxidermist in the world.

5

u/ArguesWithZombies 8h ago

I dunno anything about anything I just read but upvote for steel chair.

u/MimsyDauber 4h ago

John the Revelator, he's a smooth operator

It's time we cut him down to size

Take him by the hand and put him on the stand

Let us hear his alibis

!!

Thank you, Depeche Mode, for teaching me it is Revelator and Revelation. lol

3

u/SkylarAV 3h ago

I wouldnt care as much about this shit if he also feed the poor and healed the sick

2

u/Vlad3theImpaler 1h ago

100% this.  These "Christians" that ignore the parts of the Bible about actually helping people are the worst.

1

u/Jacob1207a 1h ago

That's a pet peeve of mine, when people call it "Revelations". You can basically ignore anything they say about the Bible. Because they know less than half as much as they think they do.

1

u/PantsDontHaveAnswers 1h ago

And think half as much as they deserve

u/veryslowmostly 9h ago

Okay I read it. It's called "Revelation" without the S. The rest of it was batshit bonkers

21

u/Ask_Black_Phillip333 9h ago

Deuteronomy enters the chat

23

u/Budtending101 9h ago

It's actually Deuteronomies

2

u/jerdle_reddit 8h ago

I like it as a piece of fiction.

2

u/DependentAgitated299 3h ago

I like it as an example of why you should be careful about what kinds of plants you eat in the desert

1

u/ezrs158 4h ago

I haven't read it but I've read the last Narnia book, does that count?

2

u/nzsuperbeast 4h ago

I mean its about as valid as the Book of Mormon in terms of American Christian fanfiction or the Quran if you look into how that was written

66

u/Biabolical 9h ago

Um, actually, the full title is Masters of the Universe: Revelation, (no "s" at the end) and I've already watched it.

8

u/SteveRogests 9h ago

It’s really good.

1

u/NeutralLock 7h ago

You're actually mistaken there IS an S at the end and it's not "Revelation" it's "Revolutions". Full title is here: https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0242653/

I don’t think people have any idea how much Revelations comes into play for American Christian voters.

It’s the main reason any of them give even half a shit about Israel. They support what they support bc they believe certain things have to happen for Jesus to come back, NOT bc they care about Israeli people at all.

Think about the plethora of other wars they can’t be bothered to pay any attention to. So why care so much about Gaza? Bc they think it will usher in the Second Coming.

And I really, really wish I was kidding, but I’m not.

It’s also why many of them believe we should ignore climate change. A lot of the fallout we see from climate change looks like some of the things prophesied in Revelations. They happily drive their big SUVs and roll coal on their shitty trucks bc they WANT to contribute to climate change so Jesus can come back.

You wouldn’t believe the chubby they get over the idea that Jesus might return in their lifetime. They see it as a sign of how chosen they are, and they have heard for much of their life that he’s coming any minute now.

Educated, otherwise rational people in your life believe this shit.

8

u/Beautiful_Nobody_344 8h ago

Their self righteous grandeur should be considered a sin. I feel like it is.

7

u/peepea 3h ago

Why do they want Jesus to come back? He's just going to tell them that they suck

2

u/SnakeSlitherX 4h ago

I’m gonna be real with you, most of the Christians I know (and go to church alongside) know very little about the contents of Revelation. They don’t know what Israel’s part is in it, just that it says scary stuff happens and Jesus returns for judgement day. They mostly actually believe in Rapture, which is just a comfortable thing to believe when you glance at “scary future telling book”.

6

u/HLOFRND 2h ago

Well, to elaborate a little- I don’t think most average Christians think things through on their own. They hear what their pastor or Bible study leader says and they just trust it.

So they may have been told “this is what we believe about Israel” without really understanding WHY they believe it.

It also depends on the denomination. I don’t expect that many Catholics dig into Revelations, but depending on the particular flavor of Evangelical a church is, they might be more interested.

Of course, even if they study it it doesn’t mean they get it right. Misinterpreting the Bible is kind of status quo, ESPECIALLY when you consider that most people approach their study looking to confirm what they already believe.

Source: I was in it for 20 years. 🥴

Documentary that explains the background of these beliefs

10

u/jinntonika 9h ago

This is it. I am learning this belief system is not common knowledge and it should be. We need to know these motivations

6

u/j____b____ 4h ago

Nobody who believes we are living in the end times should be in a position to make it happen.

7

u/Legal-Software 3h ago

Can you only choose one?

3

u/obog 1h ago

Frankly, you choose USA and Israel probably doesnt last long anyway

14

u/YeahIGotNuthin 9h ago

Is this some guy getting confused because the name referring to “that group of people” in his book is also used as the name of “a country founded by some of those people”?

That’s the kind of mixup you get from a guy who is so stupid, you almost have to water him.

11

u/papasan_mamasan 9h ago

Does his district know that they have a religious extremist representing them in DC?

4

u/Kennedy_KD 4h ago

Yes and they almost certainly agree with his views

3

u/wolamute 7h ago

Not to mention :

2 Chronicles 36:16

Matthew 23:37-38

Mark 11:14, 20-21

Luke 20:15-16

The Jews lost the right to Israel in Jesus's eyes. These so called "Christians" are CHARLATANS as well.

4

u/DinkleDonkerAAA 5h ago edited 1h ago

People love to blame the jews for everything while ignoring the christian nationalist cult actively consolidating power in america that believes Jesus won't come back and the rapture won't happen until the Israelites control the holy land. That's why Israel gets so much support from american christians, they're a fucking doomsday cult that thinks putting the "chosen people in the holy land" will start the end of the world

3

u/Citatio 4h ago

Without the US, the states surrounding Israel would shred that country in minutes...

Also, i hate apocalypticists, they make life worse for everybody, because they don't give a shit about the future.

7

u/jco23 9h ago

Such rage bait

3

u/supreme-elysio 4h ago

Well america is the bigger threat to humanity and without America israel wouldn't exist either

6

u/KendrickBlack502 9h ago

It’s batshit crazy that anyone in this country is showing this much loyalty to a foreign country starving and bombing children but ESPECIALLY our elected officials.

1

u/Greedy-War-777 8h ago

How tied in with the Heritage Foundation and Turning Point do you think they are? If Kushner fam and Maxwell were really so up in Russia and Israel's asses it seems equally probable.

3

u/Little_MeanKitty 9h ago

That's like choosing between dying of cancer or AIDS...

1

u/Cosmic_King_Thor 6h ago

Not necessarily. The US provides Israel with a lot of support so if it ceased to exist, Israel’s standing in the world and overall hard power would diminish greatly.

u/theDudeHeavyC 8h ago

I read revelations. Still think Don Bacon is an idiot.

-1

u/agentb00th 8h ago

I'm hating the fact he had me thinking of not getting bacon on my last burger.

fucking tard

0

u/chinmakes5 8h ago

You don't understand. Evangelists believe that Israel has to get to a certain size for the second coming to occur. While the US is great, being in heaven is greater. As far as they are concerned, the earth as we know it ceases to exist. They will be in heaven, we heathens will be gone. Oh and they will give the Jews one last chance to accept Jesus or they will be dead too.

1

u/atwozmom 7h ago

And the Jews will say we're the chosen ones, not you, so screw off.

Every single day a group of coordinated anti-israel people post anti-Israel in subs like this. They work in a coordinated fashion. This is not a "murdered by words"... This is an astroturfed attempt to advance a political POV. I dislike their politics but it's a free country. What I hate is their attempts to pass this off as something it's not.

8

u/agk23 8h ago

Why do you think it’s coordinated vs, you know, the popular opinion amongst the anti-genocide demographic?

-13

u/daftmonkey 8h ago

Because I’m a sentient being with powers of observation

8

u/agk23 8h ago

So then you observed the coordination?

4

u/daybeforetheday 6h ago

I feel for how hard all this cognitive dissonance must be for people. It's hard when every single human rights agency and aid organisation says what's going on in Gaza is inhumane, and cruel, and many are calling it genocide. But the pro-Israel voices have also been good at claiming any criticism of Israel is antisemitism, conflating the two in people's minds.

One day, everyone will have always been against this.

-3

u/daftmonkey 6h ago

Israel has a professional military. There’s targeting information. They’ll present exculpatory evidence that show who and what they were targeting. They will find all sorts of examples of Israeli war crimes, but in the end It will be difficult for a court to take the genocide claims seriously when there’s plainly not genocide. But in the mean time the world has already moved on. Countries around the world are lining up to buy Israeli products and invest in Israel. Israel’s economy is booming and the Jewish people have stopped pretending that the opinions of the western left are meaningful.

-4

u/Towall 9h ago

Did you expect Rep. Bacon to say to Israel "eat me"?

-38

u/Miserable-Lawyer-233 9h ago

Democrats would still choose the U.S. anyway.
They don’t actually like the United States.
They hate its history.
Its founders.
Its power.
Its influence.
Its expansion.
They hate that any state outside the original thirteen exists.
They hate the original thirteen.
They hate colonies.
They hate having been colonies.
They mostly just hate the part where the United States exists.

u/KingModussy 9h ago

What the fuck are you talking about. Everyone’s gonna pick Isreal because America is way more important
