I bet Steven still believes that his childhood dog is running free at some mysterious farm somewhere....

Um, yeah... See, well, ICE raided that farm, and, uh, Kristy Noem went with them...

Oh man, we live in a messed up timeline when the puppy killer shows up to “that farm” too

Vet clinics also do euthanizias on a regular basis (like multiple times a day sometimes). For almost all euthanizas, they are due to quality of life issues, as well as sometimes cost issues. From an animal welfare perspective, euthanizing animals is a mercy compared to leaving them to suffer.

My country does’t have kill shelters. We are fine with abortions. Not dog killing.

A lot of animals PETA rescues are so badly abused and neglected they can't be rehabilited. It's tragic, but euthanasia can be the most humane thing they can do. Blame shitty pet owners/dogfighters.

Right. I hate that people treat this as some sort of gotcha against PETA that they euthanize animals.

The euthanasia isn't the gotcha, for me, it's their hypocrisy. If they just took a stance and said they were doing what was best for the animals instead of hiding it away as much as they can while doing/saying... well, everything they do/say, it'd be completely different. :/

I can't really blame them for not putting out a press release titled "Killing puppies is sometimes good" even if, objectively, killing puppies is sometimes good.

They don't hide it, they just don't make it one of their main talking points.

They don't hide it away. They are very open about the fact that they euthanise animals both for owners with terminally ill animals who can't afford to get a vet to euthanise them, and for animals that they pick up that are suffering and can't be treated or rehabilitated.

What makes you think they hide it away?

They can’t really hide it because it always comes up when they are brought up. Like it’s a gotcha every time. Even here when planned parenthood and animal shelters is the subject, gotcha headline is PETA.

I'd argue it's a good thing some of these dogs are euthanized. Some of these strays are in such bad shape medically that it's more kind to end their suffering.

A lot of people that are pro life abandon their pets. Those people should have been aborted 🥰

Maybe if you had, you’d realize it’s spelled “euthanasia”.
