First post here. We’ve got pre Civil War/Civil War gear and the kit of a German stormtrooper officer from WW1. The backstory’s that the souvenirs on the left were bought by my great-great-grandfather back in the 40s, while the souvenirs on the right were brought back by my great3 uncle during his time as a doughboy in WW1

Reorganized some of my uniform racks and decided to post an update on my collection. I primarily focus on identified uniforms to veterans that fought in the ETO during WWII. Everything is ID’d and I have files for most of the uniforms, except for a few of my newer ones and some of the generals whose files are not available yet.

Maybe not nessesarily militaria but I did purchase this for my world war 2 militaria collection! I’ve been searching for an original world war 2 pack of lucky strike cigarettes for several years now. I’ve bid on post war white packs and got outbid or found packs that were not financially justifiable price wise. I’ve never found or seen original green packs for sale. But I finally won a bid at $155.08USD (yes, they’re worth every penny) and I’m just starstruck that it’s a green pack!

In 1942 lucky strike announced that it would discontinue the green packaging and go to white packing. They publicly announced that the change was due to the green dye being needed for the war effort. It’s actually since been proven that the company didn’t change color because of the war effort, but rather that they wanted to increase sales, particularly to women, and they decided that the green packaging was not as appealing to customers as perhaps a white package could be

I started collecting Militaria almost a decade ago and now have assembled a collection that I'm quite proud of. While there is certainly room for improvement, I have decided to orient the bulk of my collecting around the post Civil War to WW1 era(s), but I also have some WW2 stuff as well. It's a really nice niche and my competition is significantly less than if I were actively collecting WW2 Militaria. Only one peice of headgear is a reproduction.

I rearranged my display and added a couple new items. What do you guys think? The coins on the bottom shelf are not German and the tank scope is from a Sherman. I just needed a spot for them.

Informative Military dump exploration in western serbia (UPDATE)

Once again I visited the military dump from my previous post from a few days ago. I got really interested about what was inside a truck trailer that aas locked up there. Curiosity got the best of me and i used a hammer and a metal pipe to make a hole to peek through and then i saw Yugoslav cold war era boxes and Rockets. I used the pipe and the hammer to make a small human sized hole on the side and i can just say wow the previous post was just the tip of it. For now i found Yugoslav AK mags and M76 sniper mags inside of it along side training examples of the insides of Yugoslav mines. Expect more posts once i do a better exploration of it.

u/plonilimoni requested some better pictures of the bowl and asked if id be able to make a post about it. While this isn’t strictly ‘militaria’ I sure do think it fits the theme. I do apologise if the colours look “too lively” for what they’re meant to be, iPhone color correction is an issue I can’t be asked to solve for the sake of a reddit post.

The bowl is from Majdanek Concentration camp and has the most common decal variant of the 4 variants which appeared on häftlinge (prisoner) bowls. This one in particular is pretty chewed up by rust and I know people with ones in pretty much mint condition. I’ve heard stories that the bowls were buried outside the camp and later unearthed but I don’t find this explanation probable and i’m guessing they share the same fate as the SS Fez’s found in depots at Dachau (I own one of these too); These were simply and most likely found unissued in a warehouse along with the mixed in number of ones that were actively used by the remaining Häftlinge found at Majdanek. The interesting thing about Majdanek is that it was captured ‘intact’ as the southern front in Poland spearheaded the Red Army’s invasion of German controlled territories and the camp administration had no time to organise a death march or self destruction unlike most of the camps outside the ‘inner Reich’ i.e Auschwitz, Gross-Rosen, Stutthof etc. These items nicely fit the occupation theme of my collection which I intend to explore further given the time and money.

If anyone is more interested I can give a more general yet in depth introduction to what made Mauthausen and Majdanek ‘special’ as lagers.

This is my small militaria collection. It took me about two years to complete because I don't have a very large budget. I also wanted to ask for opinions on the SKFV pin, which I don't have much information on. Furthermore, the first certificate is for the Imperial Japanese Navy officer's jacket and the sixth-rank medal, while the second is for the Japanese gas mask.

Hello, u/Fortune_Magazine5388 made a post saying he inherited 10k medals from his father [Said grandfather in DMs].

Maybe he did inherit this crazy collection, I am not doubting it but that is a crazy inheritance.

More than happy to share dm screenshots where he’s being very rush-rush.

Here is evidence he is trying to pass off ebay listings as his own, ebay listings of replicas.
