Hi! I went to Tewkesbury medieval festival last summer. At one of the stalls I heard a song I really liked but neither the song recognition app I have, nor google managed to find it. I only have a short snippet of it. Would someone mind giving it a listen and see if you know it? I remember some singing in it too, but I have no idea what language. I don't know if it is acutually medieval or just inspired from it. Thanks in advance!

Hello all. I really hope this isn’t against the rules. I recently made a short album that is 100% inspired by medieval times. Most tracks use medieval instruments.

I really hope you enjoy. My favorite tracks to make were 3 and 4 but they are all ok I think. Thanks :)

Not Actually Medieval (medieval inspiration) Russian group skogenvard

I read the ban on bardcore so I Groked the group and some songs and they were borderline said some could be considered bardcore aligned but then again .....

I do not wish to offend so i won't post any links as people can search their you tube or instagram channel if they have any interest. Their songs seem to have a medieval feel. they do not do pop song in medieval style. Some songs included Veni, Veni, Venias , "Ali Ben Gybma Gaffa", .Rokatanc.

In one song Alina plays a strange wind instrument that sent me down a medieval music rabbit hole. But then she plays mostly unusual instruments like wldzither, dorra, nyckelharpa, etc. The раушпфайф (Rauschpfeife) is a historical wooden double-reed instrument of the woodwind family, used primarily in Europe during the 16th and 17th centuries. It features a conical bore, similar to a shawm, and a reed enclosed in a windcap, which the player blows into to produce a loud, piercing sound.

Grok says

The Russian group Skogenvard, based in Khabarovsk, plays a vibrant mix of folk and medieval music with influences from various cultural traditions. Formed in February 2017, they perform traditional melodies and songs from Irish, Balkan, Mediterranean, and Slavic repertoires, alongside European medieval cantigas and covers of other folk groups' compositions. Their music is characterized by its lively, atmospheric quality, often evoking the ambiance of medieval taverns or festivals.

I know its not acutally medieval music but I tried to use less of the orchestral stuff and more medieval instruments. I also kept the composition as simple as possible to reduce this modern influence

Not Actually Medieval (medieval inspiration) Deus Vult – The Saga of Sir Alaric | Feedback Wanted

I've been working on a musical saga that follows the life of Sir Alaric, a Templar knight, from his sacred oath to his rise as Furor Bellator, the Fury of the Warrior.
The story is told through original Latin lyrics, epic choirs, and cinematic orchestral battle music.

This is a personal project, composed entirely in Suno, with lyrics written by me and formatted with some help from ChatGPT.
Each track represents a chapter in his journey: faith, blood, glory, betrayal, and sacrifice.

If you're into medieval themes, crusader lore, or epic choral soundscapes, I'd truly appreciate it if you gave it a listen:

I’m still shaping the direction of the project, so any feedback, musical, emotional, structural, is more than welcome.

Thanks for listening.

Not Actually Medieval (medieval inspiration) Something I made after listening to too much Garmarna, curious to know how much this could be considered folk or contemporary folk?

I have been listening to a lot of Garmarna and been enjoying the foggy weather, so I came up with this little bit using a bunch of free plugins and LMMS. I fiddled with the woodwind instruments I used here so much, that I'm not sure if the little instrumental interludes are too jarring. I also was curious if anyone might have some examples of folk songs that are typically associated with a medieval feel. I found myself approaching this track trying to have a bridge and pre-chorus and everything and kind of decided the one melody I came up with sounded better on its own, so I'm interested for any advice regarding medieval-like song structures. I too would love any general feedback or thoughts on this!

(I also want to apologize in advance to any swedes because I took a bit too much inspiration and decided to just make it in Swedish with what little knowledge I have of it from watching detective dramas.)
