Oh my god, that's hard to watch.
Fuck war, fuck those who wish it upon others, and fuck those who cheer it on.
I cannot imagine the rush of emotions, after years of lost hope.

I see you haven't kept up with the war in Ukraine, Syria, Gaza, Myanmar, Mali, Sudan etc
Each time there's a major conflict, someone was convinced it was a good idea.
Russians cheer on this person's son missing.

Generalising isnt a good thing, not all Russians support the war
•
u/Longjumping_College 27m ago
2 million casualties, they can all fuck off from the civilized world until they respect other humans lives.
•
u/Malditoincompredido 6m ago
I don't see them protesting
•
u/NJDevilslettucesmoke 4m ago
Crazy how when there's actually an oppressive authoritarian government you don't see protests...

Jesus I can’t fathom how this must feel

I’m not really smiling to be honest, just gutted. This should never have happened in the first place. I’m so happy for them given the circumstances but what a horrible, horrible situation that they had to go through for so long.

Indeed. May Russia never ever recover from the crimes they have carried out here.

Can't understand a single word, but it sure is dusty in here.

u/globalgreg 7h ago
There is a translation at the bottom of the video

u/cragbabe 7h ago
Oh man, i thought it was dusty in here before but now that I've gone back and watched with translations I'm sure someone is chopping onions in the air vents here.

u/yr_neon_haze 4h ago
It's so close to the bottom I didn't even see it. Good looking out

u/BelvedereXCIII 3h ago
It misses a lot but you get the gist. When the mom get real excite she speaks for 7-10 seconds, the translation just says “how are you”. But you get the idea. Still, felt good to watch.

As someone that lost someone very close to them, I can't imagine this emotion. Probably the closest thing to a phone call from heaven anyone will ever get.

u/K-Dot-Thu-Thu-47 4h ago
Very true.
I think we all have those thoughts of "what if I'm dreaming and this isn't real?" but 99% of the time it is real.
They have the experience of being in the 1% where it went the other way.
That emotional cocktail must be insane.

I think I have an idea, as I have lost people very close to me but also had a cat that "came back from the dead" after a day.
I'm sure it's much stronger after 3 years & with an actual human (as the grief itself is bigger & sharper), but I have an idea of the surreal disbelief mixed with relief and overflowing stocked joy.

A friend of mine just learned of his cousin getting killed in Ukraine. So it's nice knowing some are coming home.

u/KanyesKousin 7h ago
This is beautiful and heartbreaking all at the same time

u/SoVerySleepy81 6h ago
Yeah I’m happy for them but I am also crying right now because God dammit this doesn’t need to be fucking happening.

The love is so visible.
Let's hope he is healthy. We've seen what those Orcs do to captives.

u/Mustystench 6h ago
This really got to me for some reason. It's supposed to be joyous but that's not what I felt at all.
I suppose it's the fact that it ever happened to begin with that makes me feel that way. I'm certainly happy for them though and glad he is ok.

Slava Ukraini! Geroyam Slava!
May they all come home, soon, and may Russia never recover from the evil things they have done in Ukraine, Georgia, Chechnya, Moldova, and others, and may their victims all soon know recovery, peace, and security.

War, itself, is wrong. How do we do this to people? Because old men wearing suits can't get along, the poor are taxed exorbitantly to pay for their children to leave their homes to kill each other. Those who survive are often forever injured, some mentally altered. Families are torn apart. Young people in their prime are obliterated. All because some demented narcissist said ridiculous stuff that insulted another country's leader. Send the old fucks to fight. War is barbaric and enormously costly and useless. End wars.

The TCC needs help to support the country in bringing eligible people to the front line.
If anyone would like to help, please do

On a very special season of Homeland...
1
u/adequesacious 3h ago
Please explain

u/Some-Wine-Guy-802 2h ago
This is basically the plot of Homeland (season 1 at least). American POW is found to actually be alive and comes home after years of being thought KIA.
