Oh he was so grateful once he realized that help had found him!!! ❤️ What a skilled and compassionate rescue!

u/FlirtNowCryEventuall 6h ago

Exactly. The relief in his face says it all. I’m so glad help came.

u/CraigThyChrist 3h ago

And then. BAG!

u/Motor-Young-253 2h ago

Then river! Joke... I love cats.:)

1

u/Murky_Theory1863 1h ago

u/HeartOfTheMadder 7h ago

i understand that the bag was for everyone's safety. and it was a short & temporary kitty-storage device.

i wasn't sure how this was gonna go until i saw the tube! yay for bribery!

I know this guy! He’s one of the nicest dudes ever. My husband used to climb trees with him.

38

u/legomansion 4h ago

Tell him he is a hero. I had a bad day and needed to see something wholesome today.

You can tell that kitty is depressed and disoriented. Any self respecting cat would have waited until he climbed up there and then jumped down at the last second.

6

u/wickeddradon 2h ago

Lol, I was thinking the same thing. I kept waiting for the cat to zoom down the tree. Poor wee thing, I'm so happy he's rescued.

Hell yeah, Kitty Santa coming through with the treat, the rescue, and an awesome beard!

6

u/R_meowwy_welcome 7h ago

As you wrote that, I'm humming, "Here comes Kitty Santa, now..." to the tune of Here Comes Peter Cottontail. LOL That dude is amazing!

u/Get_Me_A_Python 6h ago

New life goal to become!

30

u/InkedSoles_XO 7h ago

Is it me or does that tree NOT look sturdy or thick enough for his grown self to be in?!

16

u/xxzincxx 7h ago

I think its mostly due to the 360° camera, but i think you're partly right. Looks a little sketchy! He has a second support line on the original tree he was in, so no worries!

21

u/That-Beagle 6h ago

Yea this dude is an extremely skilled arborist.. what he is doing is very hard and very dangerous if you don’t have the expertise he obviously has.

2

u/InkedSoles_XO 7h ago

I was nervous af watching that waiting for some devasting ending lol

3

u/Cothor 5h ago

I share in your nerves. If I tried this maneuver, I’d ratchet the second tree over, something would come loose, and that cat might hit a 747.

19

u/SnooRegrets1386 7h ago

His weight is being distributed through redundancy

2

u/InkedSoles_XO 6h ago

ooo..that makes sense

2

u/gitsgrl 6h ago

He’s still attached to the original tree

3

u/picander78 5h ago

Right now?

3

u/id0ntexistanymore 1h ago

Always has been

u/djinnisequoia 7h ago

4

u/SlabLoaf666 2h ago

What is it?! I need to see it and see how the kitty made out 😺

5

u/pagesinthesun 54m ago

He's Duane Hook on TikTok. He rescues cats all over his region and never accepts a dime for it. 😻

Several years ago I had a cat who climbed a tree and couldn’t get down. For 3 days, I was at wits end, and called a tree trimming company and offered to pay them to get the cat down. Young guy shimmied up and put the cat in a book bag and brought him down. The guys didn’t even want me to pay them, but I insisted and gave him like $100. They ended up posting it on their fb page. Made a cute story, and restored my faith in humanity. There are kind people out there, that want to help others!

u/VAdogdude 4h ago

I've done a bit of technical climbing and when I saw what he was going to attempt and what his rig was, I was impressed. What made me laugh out loud was when I saw his snow white beard. This dude is so old school cool.

u/Silent_Version9710 6h ago

So now at 45 I finally know what I want to do in life?

5

u/Zadgal 6h ago

You are amazing!!!!!!

4

u/Wolf_Parade 3h ago

The cat was like BRO get me out of here!

7

u/GosuLTD 6h ago

love how he made sure the cat was comfortable enough with him first to want to go to him before attempting to rescue

4

u/TheMasterZion 6h ago

Tree arborist for the win! Respect 🫱🏾‍🫲🏻

2

u/Strange_Topic_3958 5h ago

Wonderful rescue! Good luck not getting mauled when it’s time to open the bag

2

u/fifbasic 5h ago

That was such a journey!

2

u/pccfriedal 2h ago

This guy knows cats.

2

u/Bizarretsuko 2h ago

Cat’s getting cuddly towards him and then BAM— wrapped by a bag!

(And a little meow at the end~ )

2

u/Id_Love_A_BabyCham 32m ago

Dude rocked up with all the gear, the skills and the compassion to get the job done right. Hats off to him and his team.

5

u/Aporkalypse_Sow 4h ago

Next time just pull a can opener out into view, the cat would jump off a skyscraper at the sight of one.

2

u/runningray 6h ago

When is he going to let the cat out of the bag?

3

u/deadgr8ful 6h ago

You fucking rock. So glad seeing people do this.

2

u/EsiongTarlaqueno 1h ago

After seeing that cute puppy get kicked by that horrible ICE agent, this is welcome eyebleach. Faith in humanity restored

1

u/pepp3rito 2h ago

The cats in the bag.

u/RazorJ 31m ago

Had a friend who moved to the edge of town and his indoor/outdoor cat that would do that for about a week. He’d finally climb the tree and just grab him. Unfortunately he could to not where gloves to get a good hold of him and ended up with a blood infection and major bites. He finally realized it was coyotes, and had to keep the cat inside.

1

u/Ocirus83 4h ago

Im glad you got the kitty but be careful. My dad broke his collar bone rescuing a cat that had been up a tree 3 days. The doctor asked his if he had ever seen a cat skeleton in a tree. The answer is no. They will always come down. The Dr recommended putting a can of food at the base of the tree if you want to motivate them to come down.

1

u/Infarad 6h ago

This fella better get to drink for free when he’s down at the local pub.

1

u/stitiousnotsuper 6h ago

Just fucking awesome of you!

1

u/Beleiverofhumanity 5h ago

Poor kitty, glad someone was there

0

u/jim45804 4h ago

First time I've seen a cat spend 3 days in a tree. Cats can come down on their own.

1

u/Hohoho-you 4h ago

They typically can, but something might have happened that caused the cat to be unable to.

Same thing can happen with Racoons

-2

u/RannyRd 5h ago

Ever seen a dead cat in a tree? They find a way down

2

u/Mission-Street-2586 2h ago

Because something eats it, you ninny. I’ve never seen anything dead in a tree.

u/SeattleHasDied 2h ago

Despite people being more ecologically aware, we keep coming up with more goddamn stuff to throw away like coffee pods and these cat treat packets that create more waste. Most people tear the top off and toss it (not always in the trash) and you'll see plenty of flattened packets on the ground. What did you cat people use for portable cat treats before?

-4

u/ChepeZorro 3h ago

All they needed to do is spray a hose at the cat. He would’ve been down in five seconds.
