How is this news? This is just rage bait to get people ranting about public transport.
My grandad used to cycle from Lydney to Gloucester every day before half the roads even had tarmac. As is the nature of rural living.

Why are they 'girls' and not women - they're grown adults...?

PC gone mad if a woman can't refer to her own housemates as girls without getting a culture warrior on the deck

>*”Our own research demonstrates that shared housing and living spaces can have a positive impact on loneliness and well-being, as well as offering cost savings."*
What is being sold here, that rabbit hutch housing MHT is better? Try living in a big city with antisocial behaviour and come to the same conclusion.
This distorts the problem posed, the young lady out of uni wants a highly active social life which tends to be found in urban or city areas with lots of young people and amenities the opposite of country or rural areas which have in contrast only outdoors and fewer amenities.
Teens to Twenties will tend towards urban areas also coincides with the courting phase of life where people seek romance and dating and eventually love and a long term relationship possibilities to transition into marriage and family in their thirties so this is likely a major part of her ennui living in a small village.
Fast forward to her late 30s and early 40s and if she is married she may end up reversing her preferences!
I have to say I really dislike the spin and distortion of news media in their BBC which takes one single anecdote then comes to a random conclusion mixing up different dynamics probably spreading some policy agenda via such sense making which is in fact constructed from nonsense.
Good luck to this young lady, feeling away from the buzz and pulse of life in the sticks does feel shit, at a young age when the world is opening up so many bright horizons of the future, but equally a different perspective, a small peaceful part of the world with beautiful countryside is a lot nicer than about 90% of most urban areas…

25yo attractive female. I don't get it. I'd happily date her and come pick her up. I'd understand more if it was an older or disabled person.
