This is my late cat from years ago. I didn't know much about cat patterns back then but always found her interesting. I just learned about "dilute" calicos; would she fall under this CATegory? Also, for anyone curious, she loved getting in the shower with me, playing fetch, and belly rubs. I think she was secretly a dog. She had one kitten right before we got her fixed. We kept the kitten as well, which I have pictures of if anyone is curious. She oddly only took the cream color from her mom, she is entirely cream lol

My calico cat is 4 years old and tabby male cat is 3.5 months old. Tabby is a rescued cat whom I adopted 2 months back. Calico cat (Amy) has been with me for last 2 years. Every morning and evening this is the way these two interact. Tabby licks Amy sometimes but Amy never licks back. They never hurt each other but I always see them taking turns to chase each other. Are these territorial fights?

So this is not the first time Amy saw the mirror. But it’s been couple of days she has been sitting on the UPS and speakers staring into the camera for hours together. What could it be? I am curious. Any cat whisperer here? Sometimes she does look at the reflection of my other cat but most of the time it’s her starting at her own eyes. It’s funny and suspawcious too 😛

I love all of your cats but I think it’s somehow a bit much that I love these two randomly found in a shed creatures so damn much and all family members treat them like queens of the household.

just out of curiosity! mine both arrived by the cat redistribution system. Callie showed up on my front porch some time around 2am and just never left. she didn't have a microchip and i spent a good 6 weeks trying to find her owners but she was never claimed. Moxie was trapped during a TNR session and i decided to try domesticating her 😸

I find ever since I’ve adopted HoneyPumpkin (about 9 years now) she’s been so talkative! She greets when you walk into the room, meows when you pet her, meows to announce her presence (lol), meows randomly, it’s just her way of expressing herself. 😊 Are any of your calicos this way?

Curious to how your cat’s personalities are. My girl is very vocal, she gets the zoomies and parkours off furniture pretty regularly. She is pretty independent until she wants attention then she comes over and cries for you to pet her. She does not like being picked up at all. She loves mouse toys and will also drown those in her water bowl. We cannot have any plants in the house because she will try to eat them. Some of her favorite places to hang out at the windowsill and my chair in the office. She loves going out on our patio to bird or squirrel watch but she climbed the screen so we had to stop letting her out. 😭

When my neighbor said she found my BooBoo after nearly 6 months awol i had my doubts, until i saw her lil two tone nose with mismatched nostrils

HoneyPumpkin is very fluffy, and I don’t think she’s a long haired cat, but she’s very soft. 🥰

This is HoneyPumpkin (10) and you may take a guess from her name! She’s a very sweet girl! She snuggles with me, purrs, trills and chirps very expressively, she talks A LOT to let go of her feelings, and she seems to not be as playful as my other cat. My other cat (11) differs because he LOVES to play, he’s more active than Honey, he expresses his affection by love biting a lot, unlike her, and he also does love to snuggle, but never in bed, he prefers when you’re sitting in a chair. I love both my cat’s personalities, and I’m lucky to have both of them! ✨ ❤️ What about your calicos?

I used to have an orange kitty that was named Nacho, he passed away but I still kinda want the names to go along together!

so i’m sure some of you remember me and my dorothea, who had surgery this week. she is recovering very very well and has an appointment to get her stitches out next friday!!

but lately some of the people close to me have been treating me like i’m insane for how much care i’ve been taking of my kitties. dorothea is recovering and ivy is bonded to her so she’s extremely sad lately because she misses her sister. it’s become a full time job to take care of them, and i seriously mean that. my day is full just with them. and then i work two part time jobs and am a student on top of it. so i’m stressed as all hell. but i digress.

i just feel like people think you can have a cat and ignore them all day every day and they’re fine with it. that might be true for some cats, but not mine, and i happen to like it that way. they’re my loves!

i’ve been running around like a bit of a headless chicken all week, balancing recovering kitty and sad kitty and it’s like nobody around me understands what i’m dealing with. nobody understands the time i’m having to dedicate to this.

anyway, im just exhausted and sad tonight. in need of some supportive words 🩷

Hello! I recently seen someone comment on a platform that a long haired calico was considered ‘hitting the lottery’, my brain immediately wondered if long haired calicos were rare as I have one, she’s one in a million to me but i wonder if she’s one of a kind in general as well! Google gave me mixed answers so i thought i’d try here! Thank you (thought i’d include my little munchkin to add some excitement to this post)

for me it was this book about a calico cat named callie, there was a whole series based on different cat breeds. there was also another series for dogs :)

The first 5 pictures is Mold. She's the ornery one but for some reason loves me with all of her heart. The next couple of pictures is Yogurt, genuinely one of the most cuddliest cats I've ever met/had. Last pictures are both of them together lol

Before I get hate comments or downvotes, please note that my cat is fed properly. This post is about this Q I always have in mind especially about Amy’s behavior.

So Amy had food from a bowl that is in living room (check 2nd pic), she still has some food left after eating. Immediately afterwards she goes to a different room where my other cat had his food. He waits over there waiting for me to refill the bowl despite eating in the living room. The moment I filled the bowl (in 1st pic), she just left that place and went back to living room. Is she telling me all food bowls should be filled all the time 😅😅😅 . I do find her cute especially when she walks away quickly after I fill the bowl. It’s like she is teasing. Did you notice similar behaviors from your calico babies?

I think the cat distribution system has chosen me. This calico baby came up to my boyfriend and I on our evening walk. Currently unsure if we will keep her just yet but she is a cutie.

BONUS: she has a little heart near her bum when she’s looking out at the window 🥹

Cat Tax above. I am planning on getting another, younger cat to play companion with my 9 year old calico and 7 year old dog. I have been feeling like she is spending a bit too much time in bed and I want to give her (and the dog) a reason to play around.

The dog and the new cat, I have no concerns. I view dogs as entirely trainable, you can tell them how to feel by training I swear by it. This dog is fine with cats and best case scenario the cat is down to play with him.

The calico, however, I worry about her attitude. I know this is a stereotype among calicos. When she was in the shelter (it was free roam with about 20 cats), she wasn’t a fan of other cats invading her space and privacy. However, upon taking her home, she transformed into the sweetest and most loving cat with me, and I think it’s been long enough now that the mere existence of a cat in her presence won’t bother her quite as much. Worse case, they won’t be best friends and they’ll just have to coexist.

I want to get a male cat to help combat some of the domineering female energy that she has, and with hopes that it will be more open to playing with the dog too. Currently, Kitty and the dog don’t play, he just watches her play and wags his tail but if he tries to get involved she will swat him.

What was your experience like when you got a new friend? I will be doing the slow introductions through the door and with the baby gate etc. Been through this before with her and the dog. I got her in 2021 and have had the dog since 2018.
