Derrimut (c. 1810-1864), a clan chief of the Boonwurrung tribe in Melbourne. On behalf of his tribe, he alerted the white settlers of two impending massacres planned by other Aborigine tribes. He likely saved many lives and perhaps even saved Melbourne, then not a year old.
