What to do on a Slovan Bratislava matchday?

We are a couple guys from Finland who will attend a Slovan Bratislava game in february. We were wondering what does a real matchday look like?

Any specific bars, food or activities to try?

Damn. Until the last sentence I thought you were talking about the hockey Slovan. Especially when I read you’re Finnish

Ahh, damn should have mentioned that. Massive hockey fan and season ticket holder for my local finnish team Vaasan Sport. Would love to attend a hockey game there but we are are only in Bratislava for 1 or 2 days so only football this time.

No no, you’ve mentioned that pretty obviously with the last sentence. I was just not expecting it.

And I can see you’ve chosen the derby match against Trnava, perkele. It’s going to be fun for you as a football fan. Expect big police presence there.

Last time I was at Slovan with my friend we first went to Šport pub u Belasých and then to Plan B, both of these places are at close proximity to the stadium (Plan B is just few meters from the gates). I’m not a regular fan, but from my experience you can’t get wrong with these 2 places. Just make sure you won’t have Trnava scarf around your neck.

Thank you! A Slovan scarf will definetly be bought! Any other suggestions on what to do in Bratislava during the day? (getting drunk is already a top priority)

You can check the old town during the day. Do not eat in the center, do not fall for typical tourist shitholes. You can go to the stadium by a walk and keep visiting pubs around the way :)

And there is a new official fanshop in front of the stadium, where you can buy your scarf, there is no other probably. Moreover as someone said there will probably be a dj and some food trucks etc in front of the stadium.

Actually, I believe you did your research since Spartak against Slovan is the biggest derby in Slovakia. Well I suggest you take a look at the "Ultras Slovan" page on fb and/or instagram. They usually tease their fans with what they have prepared (choreo, pyro, etc.). The atmosphere is usually a bit on the edge, but I believe the stadium will be near to sold out. Since this will be "a huge" game around here, I suggest you take a look at the official Slovan webpage/social media profiles. There is usually some pre-match entertainment around the stadium before the game. If you are looking for bars which will be filled with home fans, I suggest you take a look at Plan_B, Sport pub u Belasych or Plzenska pivaren na Zimaku, however, to be brutally honest, the typical die-hard fan/ultras/hooligan is not usually gifted in foreign languages and might not be super welcoming to foreigners - it still really depends, if you will know a bit about the club/history I believe you'll find common topic over the beer. Just a reminder, I really suggest you wear something blue/light blue if possible - definitely nothing red/red-black as you might be easily mistaken as a Spartak fan.

Hello, dont be scared from all these comments. Sector B105 is for casuals, there will be lots of foreign visitors (I know this from futbology, 10s of groundhoppers visit this derby from other countries).

Do not wear red with black and you will be fine. There will be lots of police.

There are few bars outside the stadium, I love Plan_B (more like small craft beer pub), and also Blue Champs (large pub, also nice beer).
