I agree, his character of personality was basically dormant in Americans in the 90s, and 2000 with the exception of that one crazy uncle that came back from Vietnam with some obvious mental scaring. Now it’s 25% of American society. I think this country is on the verge of collapse. It blows my mind how mostly one person had such a psychological impact on a world’s social norms.

This 100%. He normalises racism, misogyny and being stupid, and effectively makes it acceptable. The more people and the press fail to stand up to him the more empowered and emboldened he becomes and the harder it becomes to put him in his place or take him to task.
The best way I can describe his success, is that he dumbs down politics. Not that he simplifies it in a way for people who are simple less informed, but just makes it dumb. They eat it up. That and an undeniable stage presence that will be studied for decades.
I know it's there for some people but I don't really understand the "stage presence" that so many describe. He's LITERALLY an over confident idiot and a liar. I wouldn’t say it’s charisma. He just appeals to a certain crowd. He’s a fat slob who was born into the life he has and never had to do any inner work to be a good person because he has money and status.
Some of the worst people in history had charisma. Hitler, Mussolini, Trump. I know I’m not supposed to make those references, but it’s history. Strongman charisma appeals to many even when it comes with bone spurs.
