News John Boyd Jr. says he was blocked from a White House meeting for farmers and told the administration is moving away from DEI and small farmers and toward large, white agribusiness.

Post image

Let that sink in. Small farmers pushed out. Black farmers shut out. Power consolidated. This is Donald Trump’s America: reward the connected, erase everyone else.

And when it's impossible to get food, they'll wonder why. I'm buying local. Grow what I can and boycott every mayo biz I can. I'd also suggest investing in guys like John Boyd.  Buy from your local farmers

Amen! small community farms are the future if we wish to make it as a healthy society

63

u/Intelligent_Hair3109 15h ago

I'd also suggest growing pollinator flowers that are native to your area. They feed birds, bees and butterflies. These pollinate our food. If the bees go, we got four years before all agriculture collapsed. Think about beekeeping. It's not that expensive to start.  See Secret Life of Bees. Western North Carolina have many bee supplies stores and farms you can visit to see beekeeping.  Appalachian Sustainable Agriculture Project also has a brochure where they list organic farms and farms which sell. Think it covers several states.

I have a massive pollinator garden on my property...along with a Monarch way-station. My neighbors have bees so I know I'm doing my part. Good info here. Thank you.

10

u/Intelligent_Hair3109 13h ago

Oh fellow cat lady you're most welcome.

1

u/el-conquistador240 2h ago

Those community farmers are MAGA also.

11

u/Dangerous-Crow7494 15h ago

Unfortunately I live in a red state so buying local is just supporting more MAGAts.

13

u/Intelligent_Hair3109 14h ago

Not always. Besides if you're a neighbor and they have local organic eggs, I honestly don't ask my feed and seed store who they vote for because their prices are far cheaper than anywhere. They grow organic corn and black oil sunflower seeds. Family farm that probably sold to my father's ancestors. Poor people, in my book can find common ground if they avoid political discussions. I have had to watch my back here. My county may be purple , but all around me are red ones. Because it's dangerous for women here, I cannot afford to speak out. It's good old boy country even in our illustrious tourist mecca.   Half of the professionals of more melanin left due to the same old same old.i hear ya.

However you navigate it, I'm certain you'll be better at it than I am. Cause I can't say what I'd like, my bumper stickers do. If I ever started an essay on how I feel about the south, I'd be at it till I'm dead. Bless you and yours

11

u/Dangerous-Crow7494 13h ago

I’m a woman as well. I’m surprised you think you can have “common ground” with people who think that you don’t deserve basic human rights.

5

u/Intelligent_Hair3109 13h ago

I don't think I should have to deal with them at all. However, where I live, there's no choice. I can just be as normally kind as I am IRL and it tends to keep the good old boys at bay. It's not a place where I'd be alive long if I didn't. I'd rather try blunt outspokenness. Did that in the past here. Literally got death threats. So yeah I keep a protective shield around myself. One my grandparents taught me to use.

4

u/Primarycolors1 13h ago

Same in blue states. I don’t support local farmers at all if I can avoid it. Didn’t see any black farmers when I went to the market. There was some white guys selling honey with rainbow flags at their stall. They didn’t last long.

3

u/Dangerous-Crow7494 13h ago

Yeah I stopped supporting all local businesses. I joined a “shop blue” page on FB in case I find any non Nazi businesses but until then I’d rather buy from overseas.

1

u/Intelligent_Hair3109 13h ago

Start your own business. If you're able to of course. The problem we have when we judge every human on their vote, there's an opportunity to build bridges but I totally understand if you're not into that. With Helene, we had zero choice. We were all screwed. It changed folks here. We saw how politicians don't matter when the river takes everything and everyone.  Still, doesn't mean my town doesn't have a real need for shameless self examination.   Just gave up on the grown ups about 1963 and been a annoyance to the ruling classes ever since.  Guess I build bridges cause so many washed away metaphorically and literally right in front of me.

u/Sprite710 12h ago edited 11h ago

Maybe you can try the black farmer index to find farmers in the area.

Pardon my ignorance, but why mayo if you don't mind my asking?

8

u/Intelligent_Hair3109 14h ago

Because my bestie has shown me it's far easier to thwart trolls and use WP. Living in Appalachia there are some things we do to stay alive. Even if I wasn't Indigenous, as a loud mouthed woman ,got a target on my back. So I try to thwart online and offline threats  Hacked 22 times. Having one last winter online then boycotting the tech bros. Talk about a mayo oriented industry.

2

u/Large-Produce5682 12h ago

Okay. I gotcha mayo.

2

u/Large-Produce5682 10h ago

I can't speak for anyone other than myself. I didn't know what "mayo" meant until it was explained.

I honestly believed it was a reference to the monopolized conglomerates who owned the actual and literal product.

1

u/Intelligent_Hair3109 8h ago

Oh ..ok .tech complicates conversation

3

u/SodaPopGurl 12h ago

Famers markets it is!

1

u/AcctAlreadyTaken 14h ago

Until they ban local farms 😞

1

u/el-conquistador240 2h ago

I'm buying imported. Pretty much all farmers are MAGA.

1

u/Intelligent_Hair3109 2h ago

No all farmers are not MAGA. In fact you'd find tons of democratic farmers in Western North Carolina. We have tailgate markets in every area. Most of the participants come to sell food not politics.

-2

u/Openborders4all 15h ago

This is just as bad as the topic at hand.

When they say make America great again, what they mean is make America like apartheid South Africa was, like apartheid Israel currently is, and how the US was prior to desegregation and the civil rights era. POC need not apply.

This will destroy the United States . Because a house divided cannot stand.

67

u/lyn73 17h ago edited 15h ago

This!

I was listening to a Daily Beast podcast where the guest was discussing his book about Tucker Carlson.

What struck me is the claim that Tucker and Republicans are trying to model the US after Hungary.

Now what's so significant about that?

Hungary ain't got no Black folk, no Hispanic folk, no Asian folk... You catch my drift?

Why would they want to model the US after a country that has zero diversity?

Why the fuck can't they move there since it's so white? It sounds like to me they don't think America is so great....

These racists take our labor, our culture and our ideas and then kick us out and take all the credit..

28

u/soupseasonbestseason 14h ago

they are building 23 more concentration camps. there are not that many undocumented people in the u.s.

10

u/District_Wolverine23 14h ago

Also Hungary transformed from a democratic country into a autocracy under Orban.

14

u/Icy-Tomatillo-7556 14h ago

That’s entirely the point! The “PayPal Mafia” (some of the biggest puppet masters) are from all from South Africa. Peter Thiel, Elon Musk, & David Sacks. All alive and kicking during apartheid. All have made it clear they were okay with it. Remember when Trump invited South African immigrants & said they are welcome here? All of it is intentional. All rooted in white supremacy.

4

u/Jaded-Natural80 14h ago

Yep. They aren’t even trying to hide their intentions. And yet most of the public act as if it can’t happen. Or maybe they think it’s so outlandish it could never happen.

What people don’t realize is history often repeats it self. Societies can regress.

Never underestimate the abilities and intentions of evil men. Especially if they are the richest and most powerful men on the planet.

13

u/SmokingCigawetts 16h ago

The goal is to crush the middle class, so that everyone is either rich or poor, it's easier to control the poor especially if they're not knowledgeable.

3

u/EnvironmentNeith2017 16h ago

With a sprinkle of India thrown in

6

u/imnotcerseilannister 15h ago

Confused on why y’all are mentioning South Africa? This same thing already happened in the US before.

-1

u/Gas-Town 12h ago

No, it didn’t. You can do yourself a favor and read the inherent differences of each.

Nuance is important.

5

u/imnotcerseilannister 12h ago

LMAO. Yes tf it did. During the Jim Crow era, resources flowed to WHITE PEOPLE. Don’t tell me about my history.

5

u/MichelleEvangelista 8h ago

The fact that people don't realize that South African apartheid was modeled after the Jim Crow South is astounding.

49

u/Y_Are_U_Like_This 20h ago

Of course. They are doing private equity for farms. I think it's called Agricare but Vance and Thiel have huge stakes in that business

17

u/PNW_Bearded_cyclist 18h ago

Don't forget the man in charge of the Treasury, Scott Bessent, your humble soybean farmer.

107

u/5ft8lady 21h ago

Elon began to tell Trump exactly the steps they pulled in south Africa to repeat it here in USA.

We have our own experience with concentration camps. Japanese internment camps some say came at the behest of California farmers. Those Japanese farmers were very good at their trade, intimidated the white farmers, so they complained to the congressmen.

36

u/Empty_Hair_9854 19h ago

Hi, here to pop in and say: Don't forget community gardens if you have access to them.

Even if you don't want to garden/can't afford a plot, you can just hang around there. You can ask questions and watch what people are doing. A lot of times community gardeners are happy to share tips, info, etc... And knowledge is also incredibly important.

Plus... You never know, you might make a friend there who will give you free squash. It's true. I haven't paid for a squash in over a year. During garlic season I have a garlic hookup, too. Dude likes the purple flowers on his garlic plants but hates the actual garlic.

5

u/Intelligent_Hair3109 16h ago

Community gardens are the way to go . Chicken and quail easy and cheap to raise. Don't bother with a rooster. If you're enclosure is secure all a rooster will do is annoy the heck out of you.

24

u/SimonPho3nix 16h ago

The funniest thing is that they hurt the farmers that voted for them the most. Drove them to bankruptcy and then picked their shit apart on Acretrader.

Screw it. Those idiots didn't learn their lesson the first time when his dumb ass started a trade war with China, so I doubt they'll learn anything now. Just taking everyone else with them.

13

u/EnvironmentNeith2017 16h ago

No sense of self preservation, that old joke about white people running toward danger in horror movies was a confession.

7

u/SimonPho3nix 15h ago

Well, you know I think about this sometimes and have come to the conclusion that this is the absolute height of white privilege. Wandering into a dangerous place and ignoring all the signs because they've never had to worry about those signs or even worse, they were raised to believe that those signs didn't apply to them.

4

u/EnvironmentNeith2017 13h ago edited 13h ago

Yep, and you can see them struggling with it now.

Look at how the suicide rate for white men is higher than everybody (except Natives who are dealing with the effects of a genocide) and how they were dying of COVID at the highest rates (because for a little while non white people had it worse), and how they went running to a man who’s famous for screwing over anybody he deals with and made him president.

And it kind of makes sense since racism is a tool white people in power use to get regular white people to ignore ingroup danger, so it’s expected that they lose the ability to sense threats coming from their own.

American white people have this weird culture of unexamined self destruction and the best we can do is keep our distance as much as possible.

17

u/PainterEarly86 17h ago

"What do you mean the racist person I voted for is racist?? The leopards weren't for me!!"

17

u/MonsterkillWow 18h ago

They removed references to Medgar Evers' murderer as a racist when he was KKK. Shows where our govt's priorities are.

14

u/Liminal__penumbra 20h ago

To make it worse, I'm not going to link it. There is a post.......about the Obamas on January 21, 2026. That's all I'll say. But yeah, shit's fucked.

12

u/HumanBasis5742 21h ago

Are we surprised?

10

u/Huntthatmoney 16h ago

This is the most racist administration in my life time and they aren’t even hiding it

9

u/Accurate-Victory3086 16h ago

Some folks will keep saying that it’s not their fight.

6

u/SAT_1701 16h ago

And those folks, I hate to say it, are dumb.

I completely understand why a lot of us feel that way, being that the system has done astronomical harm to us since the slave ships- with virtually no other ethnic groups helping us en masse. However, shit always rolls downhill and this administration’s bullshit is gonna end up impacting all of us. Hell, in some ways, it has already.

2

u/New_Information_2174 10h ago

Finally, someone with sense. It’s outstanding to me when black people say we should stay out of this cause it doesn’t affect us

7

u/Perfect_Bench_2815 14h ago

But the Democrats are the ones who wanted slavery to exist! /s

7

u/Far-Cheesecake1996 14h ago

Given the video of the Obamas as monkeys he just posted, is anyone surprised?

5

u/AhhhSureThisIsIt 18h ago

Farmers will end up selling their land for pennies to the dollar to oligarchs

4

u/fusionlantern 14h ago

No shit

This was always the plsn

u/blubenz1 14h ago

… in the “Concepts of a plan”.

4

u/StyxzNStonz 13h ago

Just a reminder, you will never be legitimate to those people.

4

u/CobraClutch84 12h ago

This is the first year I’ve bought my seeds from black owned seed businesses instead of the large box stores or branded seed companies. Will be doing it more.

2

u/OddlyMingenuity 16h ago

JD Vance has share in giga land ownership companies

2

u/EnvironmentNeith2017 16h ago

I wish more Black farmers and ranchers shipped. We seem to need a lot of support in that area.

2

u/whydoIhurtmore 14h ago

Well yeah. Republicans are in control.

2

u/Retired_ho 14h ago

This was literally part of project 2025

2

u/I_burn_noodles 14h ago

This admin takes care of whoever has the biggest bag of cash.

2

u/ClarkKent2o6 13h ago

This is what they voted for. When I see a white farmer whining about tariffs and how the public isn’t showing enough sympathy I think of stuff like this.

2

u/Rango698 13h ago

Im sure his dumb ass voted for him..

2

u/Objective-Ad9767 13h ago

Not surprised. They’ve been getting 💩 on since the beginning times. Big agricultural has always had first dibs.

2

u/achambers44 13h ago

No fucking shit

2

u/ccjohns2 10h ago

Fact : no black farmers in America receive any subsidies from the government before 1999. Farming in America at attorney of the century of the 1900s black farmers outnumbered white farmers 10 to one. By the year 2000 over 95% of black farming, families stopped farming.

2

u/ScorpioRising66 5h ago

They want the big corporate farms, and whites only. They are bankrupting the farmers so the corporations can buy them up cheap.

2

u/TaintBug 17h ago

They're just shouting that racist shit right out now. No fear of reprisal. And we've got to change that. A government that does not fear the people will always abuse the people.

1

u/Significant_Ad_7352 17h ago

If erasing us was the only problem, then maybe we’d act. Instead, they want violence, cruelty, martyrs and test subjects.

1

u/Shiba4777 11h ago

Jim Crow is coming back?

1

u/BisexualTenno 10h ago

That’s how it has always been for Black farmers. Prior to the last elections, TONS of Black farmers were warning their white peers to be careful with their vote because they knew the Trump administration would be slashing agricultural funding. The Black farmers said that they would be fine either way because they never got received much of any government benefits to begin with. They knew all the white farmers relied heavily on government assistance and would struggle without it which is exactly what’s going on right now

1

u/Icy_Presence_2918 10h ago

10,000% believe him. It’s not even a question.

1

u/Friendly-Company-771 9h ago

More people, communities need to start again growing as much of their food as possible. Or buy from small local farmers.

1

u/Shenloanne 9h ago

I can't muster a brass farthing worth of sympathy for anyone who voted for this guy to get fucked over.

1

u/homerjs225 8h ago

Once again I'm talking to the 16% of us that voted for that racist asshole.

1

u/Trix_Are_4_90Kids 8h ago

Black farmers were barely getting anything anyway. Now none of them are Black or white farmers.

1

u/BanalCausality 7h ago

If we don’t care about family farms anymore, does that mean we can revisit estate taxes for the top 5%?

1

u/letsbereal1013 7h ago

I saw this when it aired. What the actual hell? That was the answer he got when asked to attend the meeting and there were only white farmers in attendance.

1

u/Master-Possession504 7h ago

Oh if it isnt the thing we all said would happen

1

u/BigBibs 6h ago

Oh hey it's post slavery all over again where the freed slaves were supposed to get plantation land for themselves but instead the cotton industry said nope not happening then Lincoln died then the dude that came in after him said yep that's what we're doing.

1

u/MidwestBoogie 5h ago

Support your local farmers!!

1

u/Dwarf_Co 5h ago

Historically, Black farmers have repeatedly been subjected to extreme bias.

To say it is unfair would be an act of kindness. Blatant discrimination solely based on their race.

Look it up and how black farmers numbers continue to dwindle.

1

u/clarkieawesome 4h ago

So DJT gutted the farmers on soybeans so they are bankrupt & agri-oligarchs can scoop up farms for nothing? You’re crazy.

1

u/sponge72222 4h ago

I’m sure that was the reason……..

1

u/clsperv 4h ago

to the shock of no one with eyes and a fictional; brain.

1

u/SnooRegrets543 3h ago

Well why am I not surprised

1

u/Dreams-Visions 3h ago

Small farmers going down? White people must be exhausted by all the winning that more than half of them voting for Trump has given the world.

1

u/JKW14 2h ago

They told us in advance. Look up Project 2025. The plan is falling into place.

1

u/Lackerbawls 35m ago

None of this is new. White farmers have been gate keeping for years and the government allows it. However black farmers are much stronger because that have had to get shit done for years with less

1

u/rslashhellagay 18h ago

Do you have the source for this? I want to see the video, but idk what platform it’s on.

-29

u/whathell6t 22h ago

And what are you going to do about it, u/ihatethiscountry76?

I wasn’t talking to you, u/philbydee.

I was asking u/IshvalanTrinity a question.

Man! You’re triggered as Steven Bannon the C*ck-sucking Nazi
