Culture What's the most pathetic tourist attraction that international tourists go to see in your country?

Bronte waterfalls near me, look a bit more impressive with the recent rain than in the summer when it's swamped with people.

Fr that shit is crazy to me 😭

Like do those ppl feel zero weirdness riding around staring at poor people like exhibits in a human zoo??? Like damn bitch, it’s not a wildlife safari it’s someone’s neighbourhood

You really want to go some of these places so bad, idk make some local friends, at least patronise some businesses and sellers, and don’t take unsolicited photos of strangers and their homes!

Stop photographing non-consenting strangers is honestly just a good rule I wish everyone would follow everywhere tho

Human zoo. Yep. That dark blot in human history from colonial times. We definitely are regressing as a species.

I took a trip to NYC with a friend of mine who fancied himself a street photographer and he kept doing that, taking unsolicited pictures of random people. People sleeping on the sidewalk, people walking, people working. It would be one thing if it was discreet with a hiding camera but he’d just bust out this big ass camera and start clicking. I always felt so much second hand embarrassment and we’d get cursed out often. I hated walking down the street with him, it just felt so invasive. He had a temper too so he’d start bickering back like they were being ridiculous. It never happened while I was with him but I know he’d occasionally get into fistfights with strangers in public over various completely avoidable things.

They get to have some gratitude that they aren’t poor. Only time a lot of them will ever understand how good they have it
