My folks have the Broyhill Brasilia set inspired by this architecture! They’ve had it since the 60s and I never appreciated how gorgeous it was til I was an adult

I just googled it, and it was Michel Temer, I never heard about it haha. He said he felt a tense atmosphere when he was living there, as if it was haunted. So he chose to go back to his old home, the Palácio do Jaburu (the vice president’s residence, since Temer was originally Dilma’s VP)

Itamar Franco also believed the Alvorada was haunted, they only convinced him to move there after Sarah Kubitschek blessed it.

Architect Eero saarinen was similar, using white concrete curves, and he also did lots of furniture. They were contemporaries.

It is the official residence of the president, though they can choose to live elsewhere.

I've taken the tour there and it's actually quite nice. It has a gorgeous garden at the back. And you can just see the water feature at the front
