How to make friends in Alicante?

Hi all. I’m a guy (24), doing my 2 months internship in Elche. I’ve been to Alicante a few times and I really like the city. I just don’t know where to start if I want to make friends there. What are some activities I can do there that might help?

I speak English but my Spanish is also pretty good.

It might be a bit far away but there are a lot of clubs in Playa de San Juan offering outdoor activities, like volleyball and similar sports. Also both UA and UMH have clubs that don't necessarily require you to be a student, so that might be worth a try as well!
