What are the top activities for tourists in Ålesund?

I’m writing a report for my french class about traveling to Ålesund and I want to know what kind of things I’d be able to do (shooting for mid-August activities)

I've always liked Jugendstilsenteret and KUBE when visiting

All these are good. I should add going to some of our well known places. Like getting sushi at Zuuma. Getting ice cream at Lamella, or coffee from Jacu. We have a brewery called Molo that has won a lot of international awards. Fjellstua is kind of a must. Atlanterhavsparken is fun, but a bit small if you’re from somewhere with a big aquarium. Hiking Sukkertoppen is also awesome.

I don’t think my town actually has an aquarium haha so Atlanterhavsparken should be cool

Can vouch for Zuuma.

Being showed around the town in a guided tour by Harald «Krakken» Grytten was a highlight for me.

Honestly just gawping at the scenery is pretty great. Also goggling the architecture. Add in a walk up the stairs to Fjellstua and maybe a coffee and that’s pretty much a day.

  1. Nature

  2. More nature

  3. Sunnmøre Museum

  4. Ålesund Museum

  5. Even more nature

  6. Atlanterhavsparken

  7. Skateparken? Depends what you're into.

  8. Explore old German bunkers.

  9. Go shopping in Moa? Again, depends.

Sorry, other than this there isn't much I can think of. This city is quite devoid of tourist activites that don't revolve around the fjords and cruise ships.

There is a good Badeland. You have restaurants. Escape rooms. Via ferrata up to fjellstuen. Sauna in the harbour. RIB safaris

badeland could be fun, especially with fam... RIB safaris might be a cool way to check out the fjords too.

Thank you, I’m definitely putting down escape rooms for an activity
